Everyone gains from progress.

It's only true in the long-term. In the short-term (at least some) people do lose jobs, money, and stability unfortunately

That article you linked about 26 loans is from 2011. Do you know if they still do that or they decided to roll it back or something? I couldn't find anything about it other then more articles from 2011

But isn't Lemmy already a forum-like (i guess) platform? Like there are boards (or whatever they are called here, i don't remember, "subreddits") about discussing some topic and you can make threads discussing said topic. Bam, a forum, right?

Or do forums have something that Lemmy (or at this point Reddit) don't?

It's best when they don't have an option to install and use this stuff to begin with, if it's a problem. Mostly because I'm sure kids will find a way to bypass restrictions (because most these apps aren't that good)
