Do they shrink in the wash? Maybe you could wash on a cold cycle and hang-dry, since I suspect drying in a machine would do the most shrinking.
Similar situation for me. I even took a long break years ago when they did some other shady shit and I went to Voat for a while. Unfortunately that platform kind of degraded and was anyway prone to the same issues as Reddit. So far I’ve been using the Memmy app, which has some Apollo-like feel, and it seems that the concept of Lemmy and the fediverse are a more stable and interesting alternative than just another Reddit clone.
