Okay, well a national entity of some kind is the one issuing these certificates, from my understanding. If you lived in Scotland, it would be issued by the government of Scotland. In my country, we use the term federal because we are a confederation.

is it illegal to use a single serve wrapped slice of Kraft cheese as a postcard?

It is literally a question of making a postcard.

It'll be all torn up inside one of the machines, probably rip open the package and create a bunch of plastic shreds, and ruin the day of one of their equipment technicians. USPS is not easy on lettermail, their equipment manhandles it.

Just use the back of a cereal box or something.

being secretive for no reason

You're not being secretive for no reason. You're being secretive to avoid harassment from someone you care about. Seems like they don't really return the favour, they just make fun of you.

Oh, you know, the right to being legally recognized as the gender on your official Gender Recognition Certificate, which cost money and was issued by the federal government (and was explicitly stated on government websites to be legally equivalent to being born the stated gender).

Sorry, the NDP can't be "the left" when they've not had socialism as a core part of their party identity for years now. They have to find some other grift now that they've ignored both what the country needs as well as the people that have supported them for decades.

I can't keep voting NDP when they spit in my face and let Singh continue as leader after proving he doesn't have what it takes. They are in a grave of their own making and it's hard to feel bad for them. If you want to be the left, fucking act like leftists.

Dude, that's so fucking weird. Neither of my parents ever went to college and I did, but I don't obsess over it. "Everything" is a terrible answer.

Outside of university admissions, what's the purpose of this? "Underrepresented" how? Do you really think society is a meritocracy?

Derek deVries likes to spend more time with his head up his ass than his nose in his Bible if he truly believes that this means he can't Jesus any more.

Yeah, I had one working at some point but the others didn't work out. It really does seem like Wine GE is where it's at for me, it just works like 99% of the time no matter who the repacker is.

Honest question: do you work for Fair Vote? I get their emails, so I am down with the goal, but I see you explicitly link to the community (where you're a mod) a lot.

Funny how all the promises to imprison people for the rest of their lives are never broken but the promises to keep water clean are always broken. Interesting that most extraction projects run across indigenous land, isn't it?

Omg, shorting RIM in 2009 would have been really stupid even though yes, the writing was on the wall.

There was a lot of national interest in keeping RIM afloat because it was basically our (Canada's) first modern tech company to have wild success beyond our own borders. A lot of random people had very positive views of the company.

I didn't really see a huge dip in support for RIM in the media until around 2012 or so. That would have been a way better time to short. But as you say, most people should never short a stock – it isn't simple or easy to tell when to do it or when to stop.
