They defaced it with dicks and changed the federation list to be only threads.net. I don't think it was a state sponsored chinese hacking group. :)

I've been pondering trying to make one, but it's not going to be a cake-walk. The tool (that was a script) I wrote ruffled some feathers for it's potential to destroy the lemmyverse. While I don't believe that could happen. I'm still interested in something easier and more integrated.
The theory is simple and I am willing to take a stab at it, but there might be road blocks trying to make or incorporate changes to the actual lemmy code.
It's unresolved.
Guys, the new Israel lemmy instance has a lot of content I like, but some images I don't agree with. should we defederate?
Right advertising != spam. IMO the community should get to decide if it allows any kind of advertising. Unsolicited, selective, none, whatever. Reports to admin should only be when it's clearly mass spamming.
I don't know if you're trying to be funny or not but that is pretty funny. Those poor reporters thinking "how convenient! they obviously know what is wrong because it's right here in the list!" But it's there to make it easy to sort into the trash.
I've been thinking about this most of the day. This represents, like you said, people with nothing better to do, grouped by how much the user dislikes a community.
You could take action targeting these users. BUT, what about sneakier brigading. For sure there will be users with even MORE nothing better to do.
For example, if they have multiple accounts spread across multiple servers and automate downvoting?
Maybe, a super simple solution is to rate limit downvotes? I mean it's not elegant, but if it were slow enough, it prevents burying things.
That made my day and also inspired me to watch some vintage Simp-i-sone's. Thanks!
People can defederate from an instance for any reason they want, but if I get what you're trying to say: you think people should defederate from any instance that has a user that subscribes to all of their communities.
Come on, they’re just people too with common people problems. Cut them some slack.
You guys got potato chips?
Don't fall for it. They're also an admin on mastodon.world! :)
