This is inspired by Beyond, the part of the Animatrix directed by Koji Morimoto, co-founder of Studio 4°C. I've wanted to share Beyond here for a long time, but the only legal way to watch it online is to rent it. The best I can give you is a 25-second trailer.
The best bubble solutions aren't stable. The water part of the bubble mix might have evaporated some, and surfectants alone doesn't do much without the surface tension of water holding things together
Try adding a little more water to the solution and stirring. Also, make sure the air where you're blowing bubbles isn't too dry.
I don't know for sure. My only credential here is that the #bubbles tag is mostly my posts.
Besides Mbin, I've been using Sharkey a lot. It's really nice! I also want to use Peertube and Owncast more.
Thank you for posting this. It's fun with #levitation ! I want to get into 3D VTuber shenanigans someday, but right now all I've got is a half-finished hologram.
I'm glad someone else wants to post animated content here. Here's a tip from me: on Mbin and Lemmy, nothing works better than an old-school GIF. MP4 isn't an image format, so Mbin won't let you upload it.
You can still kind of use MP4, though:
- Upload your MP4 to catbox.moe, like you did here
- Use Ezgif to convert your MP4 to a GIF, probably reducing your video height and width in the process
- After conversion, use Ezgif's "optimize" tool to further bitcrush your animation down to your instance's upload size limit, which on Fedia is 5.7MB (6,000,000 bytes)
- Make your link post like you did here, linking to your MP4 on Catbox, but also upload your GIF
You'll get something like this Alex Blain post. Some front ends display the GIF, and some embed the MP4. Still more might not show a preview at all, but at least they can click your link to see the MP4 like they can on this post.
It is more efficient to put your lifting gas in one big balloon than several smaller ones, since there's less balloon material to lift. If I understand, it's always Valentyna up there, and she's been doing this balloon act for 20 years.
If you're gonna use helium for balloons, you'd better get a lot of fun out of them. Don't just use them for one party and then throw them away.
Finally! 20 years after this performance, it's on YouTube and I can finally share it with you! Of course, I had to show it to [email protected] too. Seriously, I've wanted to post this since the very beginning of Floating Is Fun, but there wasn't a legal source until now.
David August's ultra high efficiency dishwasher is my top Lemmy post. My top Kbin post of Chris Austin's Chasing Waterfalls has it beat, but that benefited from a Lemmy bug.
Turns out this comment was right.
I think it's less voodoo and more surgery. She's some kind of magical seamstress that brings plushies to life.
