That does seem kind of rough!

Glad you found a new home though! ๐Ÿ„

I'm not sure it's them at all to be honest. No one s exactly sure. All I know s they hurt more than any infected gnat bite I've had before!

DEET insect repellent is supposed to work. It's on the shopping list!

It turns out pretty much all insect bites are treated the same unless there's secondary infection; just leave t and take anti-histamines.

Tried a couple of the scripts but didn't have much luck with them (on linux).

So instead of fiddling with them for 2 days I spent that time manually transferring everything to other instances.

Surprisingly so! Blisters, large burning swollen area and joint pain. (WTF this is a 2mm fly!)

Oh and anti-histamine cream causes adverse skin reactions! (burns like merry hell)

I'd never heard of them either, but I keep getting bites that seem to match with Blandford fly bite symptoms.

The odd thing is that noone else around me gets them too.

I've also seen they they seem to be on the rise recently, and I happen to be in one of the parts of the country that has suffered with them in the past.

They're named after a town in Dorset, so must be pretty common, but I'd never heard of them before.

Much appreciated indeed!

And good luck!

Very true! But I know first hand how easily life can get in the way and things like servers are amongst the first things forgotten.

Without a secondary admin things can go south quickly, so an active admin can be reassuring.

To be honest, admin reliability is pretty much a deciding factor which instances to choose.

Thanks though!

Do you know if this is a single admin instance? I've noticed some issues gong back a month or so and @[email protected] hasn't posted in over 2 weeks.

To be honest I'm wondering now if it's more of a Lemmy thing than a feddit.uk thing, but just the longer I've been on this instance rather than a much larger one where the discrepancies blend in easier.

Another thing I am noticing here at feddit.uk is that my 'Hot' and 'Active' feeds only show posts older than roughly 20 - 30 minutes and then much older, roughly 2 -3 months old. Compared to my other instance account feeds display as expected.

Both accounts have the same community subscriptions, which took hours to copy over. Perhaps I should look for another instance :/ Damn I wish these subscription transfer scripts worked for me!

In a lemmy.world support post https://feddit.uk/post/788935 it's noticed that some comments are not appearing here at feddit.uk.

Comments made in a community on lemmy.world not appearing on feddit.uk.

But they do show over at lemm.ee

Maybe more of a feddit.uk issue?

Any one got any thoughts?
