I'm honestly tempted to start looking into RSS, I've never used it before but now without reddit it would be nice to have a centralized location to view absolutely everything relevant to my interests.

I don't see how Lemmy will fill the gap of Reddit - it's resulting in fragmentation in c/[email protected]

Defederating can be temporary, though. They can refederate later on once modding tools have improved etc. I don't really blame them for having to iron out some kinks with all of the extra influx of users, the graphs of the new users look crazy. I think it'll smooth out over time.

Reddit CEO says the mods leading a punishing blackout are too powerful and he will change the site's rules to weaken them in c/[email protected]

What an absolutely toxic CEO lmao he is so clueless. He doesn't realize the community and the volunteers (moderators) have all of the power.
