This is deliciously mild.

OP, like me, probably doesn’t/didn’t know that the website interface for Lemmy has a solution for this and it’s actually an app problem. So to OP it is a “Lemmy” gripe until we’re given more info. :)

Semi-related, my dad taught me if no one was hurt/nothing bad happened to start with that. Like if a friend was in a car accident I start “Everyone is ok, but Michael got rear ended this morning” or “There was minimal damage thankfully, but a tornado went through Jessica’s neighborhood last night”. No point in making someone go through that roller coaster.

Besides, sync was always monetized, and everyone that was asking/begging Dawson to migrate the app knew that. The only people surprised are people that didn't use it to begin with, and aren't going to use it now.

I’m an iPhone user so never had Sync, but even I’m confused about how upset people are. It’s like they’re trying to be offended on behalf of Sync users? Like…Sync users aren’t forced to use it and aren’t forced to pay for it. They choose to because they like the app and appreciate what the dev does. I loved Apollo and while I know Christian isn’t going to make a Lemmy app, if he did I would pay for it/pay for an ad free version because I know he does good work and I like his product.

Oh god does it not even have adjustable font??

Yes, the free version of the app has ads added to it.

Didn’t he refuse to pay Twitter lawyers that worked for Twitter to force Musk’s hand to buy Twitter? I imagine at this point his lawyer options are pretty slim based on his earned reputation.

Not sure if you’re serious or I’m wooshing, but yep. Some people apparently partly stand (not like all the way up afaik) to wipe.

It seems like many of the “all desktop people” don’t know the “all mobile people” exist, and many of the all mobile people don’t know the desktop people exist. I’ve seen some discussions in PC-centric communities shocked to hear how few people even have a laptop let alone a full PC anymore. It’s like the sitting vs standing wiping people used to not know each other existed before the internet blew up about it.

It also means people trying to share posts with friends will have trouble. If someone sends me a link that insists I open in app I’ll either ask the sender to just screenshot it or pretend I looked.

It's like that Mike Rowe idiot, he's literally just an actor so he's never worked any of those "dirty jobs" unless it was for entertainment purposes, but his condemnation for younger people who don't want to do slave labor anymore and have a better life is both hilarious and frustrating.

Oh no I missed this. Mike Rowe is an asshole? :( I used to watch Dirty Jobs all the time as a kid.

It’s extremely uncommon but does happen. Thankfully it can be cured with drugs.
