i've installed linux on 20 wildly different machines and never regretted it

there have been a very low number of devices that didn't work but are always the least vital in the machine

Not so sure about that. It's adversarial in nature but that's not a bad thing. It means we keep changing hopefully for the better for everyone

that's why in many european states we've evolved to variants of multi party, transferable votes systems

it still has inherent flaws and it still seems to have 2 sides (one side kinda sorta has to be the majority "in power", and the others in opposition) but it feels and maybe is more representative of the vote we cast

step 2 probably forgive both sides

but apart from that sounds good

now that's a freudian slip if ever there was one. you mean rubble of course

i think it might in theory

However, if I log in and immediately log out, Wayland is available on the login screen and you log in to a Wayland session.

This is identical on both my laptops, they are very different in hardware and performance. This started happening after updates about 3 weeks ago.

I have looked at logs and I can see the subsystems trying Wayland and falling back to X but I can't see an obvious reason (probably my lack of experience at this).

Anyone else experienced similar?
