So far my luck with thrifted clothing has been abysmal besides the leather jacket. But I'm hoping I'll get luckier the more I try.

That's amazing! I would love to have books that old!

Deep water version of your every day metal detecting. I know some companies already do salvage reclamation/research, but I'm talking about going hunting for smaller trinkets and seemingly "worthless" items in the eyes of corporations and research centers.

Only thing stopping me is I really don't want to be Oceangate 2 lol.

I've recently gotten into the thrifting/antiquing bug myself and have lucked out on some amazing items. (by my standards) What are your favorite finds and why?

My current favorite is a "Milan Leather" leather jacket with a UK/Ireland phone number for customer service on it's care tag. (I live in the USA for context) I snagged it for $28 dollars and can't wait to wear it this winter.

If anyone knows more about that Milan Leather brand I'd love to know more about when that company was around so I can date just how old the jacket is.

I've been recently looking into watching my weight and diet again. I had used Noom in the past and really liked their services, but then it came out that they were essentially wiretapping everyone. It seems like every health focused app is selling health information now.

Does anyone know of any good privacy focused health services? Currently I think my only options are logging my calories in a paper book lol.

Hm, like most opinion pieces, there aren't any hard numbers from studies really shown besides the initial percentages. And I immediately picked up on the second paragraph's

Compared to older generations, younger generations have reported higher rates of victimization in phishing, identity theft, romance scams, and cyberbullying.

Yeah no shit those metrics will skew towards Gen Z being more victimized if you're lumping cyberbullying into the mix! They're one of the first generations that have had to deal with their peers harassing the everloving shit out of them all hours of the day online. As a millennial, I didn't have to even think about putting up with that until at least high school. I'd really want to see what questionnaire wording they were using for the survey data. If the question was legitimately "Have you ever been a victim of phishing, identity theft, romance scams, or cyberbullying?" then I think almost everyone with a social media account for their whole life would need to check "yes."

Adding a follow up to the sizing as well. Any modern sock with elastic will wear out faster if it's material is stretched too thin constantly. Buying socks that fit your feet appropriately will also extend their life in addition to all the advice on natural wool everyone else has already given in this thread.

I also love Darn Tough!

I can't even imagine what it would be like to go viral and honestly it's one of my nightmares. Because knowing my luck it would be for something incredibly stupid that would haunt me at every serious turn of my life. "Aren't you that dude that married dress girl?" would get SO old so fast. But no reason to kill her!

Every technical bump in the road we hit now is one we won't hit/will know how to handle quickly in the future! Thank you for doing what you do for Beehaw!
