What? I remember only small parts of the game being an rts. Didnt really like that part, but it was definitely not "the entire game"

Ive been a nintendo fan my entire childhood and early adult life. I would say i am (at least clasically) nintendos target audience. I agree with the sentiments in the video. Nintendo is doing a lot of shitty consumer hostile things and people forking up ever increasing prices for decade old games will only validate their business practices and quality will further decay (like the games industry in general). That is essentially what he is saying. I will not buy the switch 2 (this video did not change my stance either way)

Granted his overly negative rant was a bit tiresome, it felt like he was impersonating the angry nintendo nerd without the comedy. But that just feels like any other yt video rant these days

Iirc (and the story was not complete bogus) the first game was designed for it but some exec didnt like it and forced hud and minimap late in development and is why it feels easy and repetitive if you play with minimap. Wouldnt be surpirsed if ac2 then was not developed with that in mind and would explain why it doesnt work as well

They had some years of crazy partying between end of ww1/the spanish flu ine the late 1910d and the great depression and fascism really got hold in the end of the 1920S tho, so couldnt we at least get some of those years first?:(

For those more updated than me, what are your thoughts on Skyblivion and Skywind?

Edit no wait you were 100% right I was way overthinking it. You're just basically saying you're not rotating the content on the page, but whether it's on its side on the reader or not, lol. Yeah my bad way overthought it you were absolutely right

Hehe yep!

I have been shocked to find that my printer not only connects on linux and stays connected without much effort but does so over wifi. Ink clogs all the time tho....🫠

You are overthinking this. It has nothing to do with whether something is designed or not for landscape or portrait. It is whether the file itself has dimensions of 4000x2000 and you want to rotate it 90 degs so that it is 2000x4000. Same content but everything rotated so that it opens oriented the way it was intended.

I love my surface duo for ds emulation!

I recently finished main story in bully on ps2 (emu). About 55% completion after end mission, and 11 hrs. Did some additional missions to get me up to about 65% and then retired the game as im not all that crazy about hunting down blue rubber bands and whatnot. Did most of the classes, but lacked a few art and photography.

Moved to another ps2 title now: jak & daxter the precursor legacy. No experience with this series before, but enjoyable first 45 mins which is what i have been able to play so far.

Neverwinter nights still on the backburner for now, and tomorrow i will play some kind of multiplayer game with an old uni buddy of mine, but not decided which one yet

I remember appreciating the old school feel of the cockpit screen in the x-wing in rogue one. They did not try to modernize that at all

When watching some videos from retro game youtube channels, they tend to point to how much more daring they were back then, and all new games will just safe it. New aaa games cost so much they cant fail, but then a flop was to a larger extend "meh" and move on for the studio. Guess that made some of these games feel more freaky as you say

Oh boy this is a long shot but here goes: back in 2007 when mass effect came out i watched a user made video on gametrailers.com from the game which ended up being tge deciding factor in buying it. It was called (i think) just "planet" and featured mako driving on a red planet set to the track adiemus by karl jenkins (or perhaps credited as the adiemus project or just adiemus).

I wanna get my nostalgia fix but i have never been able to find it again. So..... does anyone know how to find it? 🫠

I got some courses on zenva and gamedev.tv thru a humble bundle some time back and would like to store the videos from these courses locally. "Save video as" is greyed out, but is there a common technique to download such content despite this?

I have a couple of local copies of my media collection, but in case of my house burning down in a fire i would like to not have to rebuild my entire media collection. rsync.net offers some fairly reasonable storage prices (i guess there are many other good options as well).

Would you guys have any second thoughts on storing the entirety of your media collection on a remote server like that unencrypted?

I just bought a second-hand surface duo running android for the sole purpose of emulating nintendo ds. I want a stylus to emulate that part of the experience, but all styluses are a lot more expensive than i anticipated. But they seem to include stuff i really dont need such as bluetooth connectivity and such like.

Can i just get any pointy plastic thing to use as a stylus or do i need one of these that connect to the phone?

I recently got a used surface duo for the sole purpose of emulating nintendo ds and 3ds. I have retroarch running with Desmume but as far as i understand, drastic offers better performance on android.

I know i can get it on the play store (for now at least), but i dont have a google account (and i will not sign up for one). I can see that there are many sites offering downloads of an .apk, but they all seem pretty shady to me.

What would be the best way to get a malware-free .apk for drastic? Am i better of waiting for it to go open source and build it myself?

This is maybe a little paranoid but... i have a jellyfin server that i let some family members use. one of them intends to use an app for apple tv, which i think is swiftfin or something like that. i am a bit skeptical about smart-TVs and the data they phone home with, so i was wondering if there is any chance that i could be compromised due to the linux isos i host on jellyfin due to some sneaky smart-TV stuff?

What is considered the best/safest way to pirate printed magazines? On the Awesome Piracy-repo, there are some links, but they either don't work or look sus (except for maybe magazinelib.com).

If you endulge in free printed magazines, what is your preferred way?
