He is elected though? It is not as easy to depose a pope as a president, but there is no military coup, secret police or other things associated with dictatorships.

It does not work on my work-computer, since office macros and some formatting renders differently across versions. Other required software constraints make windows unusable for me.

There is hope. Here in Norway, we have a parallel system called BankAxept handling card and online payments within the country. Most/all debit cards are dual, and Visa is only used as a fallback. I believe lobbying for a similar system in other countries, or better yet for the EU as a whole, would be a good way to get started.

Welcome! I migrated when the old Reddit apps stopped working, and the grass is indeed greener on this side, except for the non-English communities.

Now I dont know much about simple living as a movement, but how do you then avoid digital cluttering? At least for me, digital bookkeeping had become a significant part of my daily work.

I have good experience with a play station 4 controller, especially with the steam overlay for configuration.

I don't know the details, but if you get hired for a position here while living abroad, you can get a work visa as skilled labour. That can later be converted to permanent residence after living here for some number of years and passing some language and/or culture test (I think). I know several people who have moved here either through work or university, including from the US. Best of luck no matter where you end up.

At least the lunch, warm cantine food at work is unfortunately not as common here as in many other places.

Norway is good if you get a job before moving. The weather, people, food and welcome is a bit cold, but life is good.

Great meme, and not a bad recommendation, but I find personal blocks to be a great tool myself. After spending a month blocking the most extreme people over there as they popped up in my feed, the remaining memes and commenters are quite nice.

This is literally the reason why I switched over to Debian. At least back then, snaps wouldn't work if the home folders were not under /home/, breaking all computers on the system I helped run.
