Wow... That BCCDC vaccination coverage chart linked to in the article is honestly disappointing. I did not realize parents here were this stupid these days. I mean, you hear about antivax misinformation taking hold in places like Kentucky and Alberta, but come on BC parents. Do better. Snap out of the f*cebook conspiracy brainwashing.

Literally the whole province is like this, not just the 2 (conservative) northern regions singled out in the article. The trend in the data holds across all the regions and all are dangerously below herd immunity? I feel like thetyee likes to throw a bit of bias where it is convenient for them. Just something to keep in mind folks, I like thetyee too! But its important to recognize the biases in the media we read.

The province-wide avg for measles coverage age 7 is 72.4 in 2023. For comparison in 2013 it was 90.9. Downward trend holds for all regions, with the 2 northern regions singled out having slightly lower coverage to begin with and end with.

Side note: why is it that gov't sites that are clearly being updated never even have frigging https setup or basic mobile RWD? I had to turn on desktop mode just to view their website properly 🤦‍♂️

Wow, love that they went noJS, ad and tracking free recently too!

So, I decided to take a leap of faith. The patrons got us almost all the way there, so let's remove the ads from the website and go for it. Not only that, but let's remove the cookies, tracking scripts, and every scrap of Javascript from the site—just pure text and images.

Glad they are only targeting west coast states with the ad campaign so that hopefully newcomers have similar ideals to BC already.

In other words, glad they aren't recruiting in Florida.

I find their oat milk just does not foam worth a damn though unfortunately for us cappuccino and caffè latte lovers

Its too expensive to eat these days no matter where you shop, so I just switched to absorbing sunlight for energy instead 🌻

Makita is good bang for your buck and Japanese owned. You can even get some cool made in Japan drills online that work with our batteries.

KMS tools is a great local store to buy tools from any brand, often have good sales.

Holy cow I just recommended them to someone the other day, I need to cancel that real quick.

Edit: Danielle Smith is a wretched traitor to Canada bought and paid for. Already hated her, but her little Mar-a-lago bribe vacation should be grounds for treason.

Consider putting a wanted ad out locally on kijiji (instead of marketplace for the love of god people, we have had a better canadian alternative this whole time that isnt owned by US big tech). I've had good luck with that for old tech since chances are someone has something that'll work sitting in a bin collecting dust otherwise.
