Well hell. I guess we’re in this fucking tsunami together.

Okay this is a bit of a tangent but I had a dream the other night that a plane crashed, and then we got caught in a “cosmic storm” which was essentially just a bunch of loud noise, swirling colours like the northern lights, and wind. Everything lately…it feels like that. A cosmic storm. Maybe we’re in it now.

It’s not just me then! Shit. 😕 Well, I hope you’re able to get a break to process all of this. You deserve it!

True that, my good human. :( Yes. It would be awesome if we could all just get a paid holiday or…several! Like what they have in Europe. They have a good day off work arrangement there. Lucky ducks.

Me too. Where is the time machine? Hehe

I couldn’t agree harder with this. Yeah, the tech chaos is like the side dish to all of this. :(

I’m feeling completely disoriented and stunned and just….having a time processing everything. The digital world is changing too quickly. It feels like the ground has turned into lava. Maybe I’m not the only one feeling this way.

Hehehe my favourite. :)

I used alcohol markers by ohuhu, a permanent marker, acrylic paint, a napkin and my tears.

I just made an account on there and was getting ready to settle in. We can’t have anything nice…. I guess I’ll just stick to the fediverse.

I am still learning what the fediverse even is truthfully. I thought Bluesky was part of the fediverse. Man.

Oh God no! I'm sorry.

Ass ass inate. Believe it! I need sleep.

I was in a fugue state drawing this. If it is in any way upsetting, I will delete it.

Support groups are something I want to see grow on Lemmy. Anything from abuse, to mental health to chronic illness or addictions. There should also be a way to protect those communities from ableist trolls, a theoretical door so that not just anyone can see the feed. I think it's important to have that door, because there are people who no matter what you say, they will never have empathy or understanding for people going through those challenges. They will always find a way to convince themselves the person isn't worthy of empathy or respect. They will try to do harm, and so they should just be blocked out. I've sadly already encountered a bit of that on Lemmy.

But I will be honest, I don't have a plan of action laid out, I'm just throwing it out there. We saw some major platforms become null and unsafe. We should work to reestablish a safe space for folks dealing with those problems. It's even more important now while we're going through this breath-takingly crappy year. I myself do not have the skills or energy to moderate one of these groups. It would just be good to work toward having more of those here eventually.

Edit: It would also be cool if we could be more thorough about keeping out troll communities, prevent or discourage them from taking root here. For example fakedisordercringe on Reddit was a vile place. The redpill communities were bad too.

I just want to write stories again and haven't been able to at all since 2025 due to...2025 and all that has entailed. I no longer feel safe or secure using any of my current devices. I feel surveyed and watched 24/7. I'm absolutely not okay with things as they are currently. (.-.) For more context, I have pre-existing mental disorders and this year has just done me in.

I'm striving toward switching out at least one device with something that I can install linux on. I was thinking either a lenovo or a dell, and will start probably with linux mint, they say it's a good beginner distro.

Not being able to write is killing me. I love writing so much even though it's not anything special. It just felt good.

I've never used linux but want to learn and I will learn, because you have to if you want to use it. You can't just hop in a car and hope it will work without knowing how to drive it. I will learn the commands. I'll fail at it a couple times but learn. It'll be great. Bring it.

I appreciate you taking time to reply.

Edit: You guys are amazing. My hope for the future is restored. Thank you!
