It's really not like it used to be, you just have to pick one of the newest version and see if you like it. There's no continuing from older series, technology is randomly founded and Gundams have yet to evolve beyond what we expected. I'm sure you'll like one of the newer indie studios version of Gundam ideas with current and future technology being used which matches the sci-fi genre vs old style Gundam that has political views.

it's supposed to be mecha romantic but many only remember the OVA comedy.
I want a second season, it's so much better than the other stories and showcasing real life QA job is the biggest highlight for the show.

It really shouldn't count as the Most DVD release because Detective Conan is clearly older and offers more on DVD.
I would just buy it directly from someone reliable in JP, it's the only other way to support the artist directly.
