Eurovision Song Contest

Amar Pelos Dois is one of my favourite Eurovision songs, and Zioferblat covers it beautifully.

This is a recap of the final of Dora, the song competition that elects the Eurovision participant to represent Croatia.

I started watching the National selections of the countries that hold an event, and enjoyed them a lot.

Sadly, my favorite did not win, but I think this was one of the stronger Nationals I watched so far. I wonder if it is an effect of the Baby Lasagna results.

My favorite was Future Culture's Waste My Time. It's going on my new "Not good enough for Eurovision but good enough for me" playlist. (Inspired by the Eurovangelists podcast) I'll concede that it was unlikely to be chosen because it's not particularly "Ukrainian", which has been successful for them recently.

Though police did not press charges and the investigation was dropped, Joost has now confirmed he won’t be taking part in the next Song Contest and needs ‘more time to heal’.

‘My team and I had everything ready, but it just doesn’t feel good.

‘I am very thankful for all the love around the world, however I am still very affected by this year.

‘I need to give myself more time to heal.

‘It was my dream to do Eurovision and we did that.

Croatia's Baby Lasagna, who took second place at the Eurovision Song Contest on Saturday, says he is giving to charity the 50 thousand euros he will receive from the Government as an award for helping to promote Croatia and enhance its international recognition.

Rai has released a statement on the matter:

"Rai specifies that it was a technical problem following which some data - completely partial - were mistakenly highlighted in the graphics of the Italian vote."

"Rai promptly apologized to the EBU leaders and believes that this inconvenience does not affect the regularity of the final result. The published votes are in fact incomplete."
