It is the lack of surprise cards.

I know why they don't exist -- coding the app to allow any player to play a surprise card at any point would be somewhat complicated. It would require allowing a player to have a "surprise" button they could press that could unwind a move and even as I'm writing this it is already messing with my head.

So yes -- while I understand why the online game doesn't have the "surprise option, it does make it less of a tactical game than in the real world.

You can't interrupt a user during their move, you can't prevent them from taking a keeper or an action card.

And you can't stop them from winning -- that is the part I miss most.

When another player whaps down a goal and goes "AHA!" and you go "Not today, Satan!"

It is still fun playing on line, however the lack of surprise cards makes the games a little too pedestrian to be as fun as they could be.

The online game has various achievements, and even playing against the computer in two, three or four player games, getting these achievements takes quite a while.

This one is called "That's Amore" and it you wouldn't believe how long it took to get the moon to hit my eye like a big pizza pie to create love :)

Does anyone else have specific achievements? Double Love? Only Had A Brain? Heart of The Sun? And if so...... how? Because trying to get them is a bugger :)

Why do people use the first or second cards when the third cards is in play?

You get three cards for Get On With it, but then you have to throw away two of the cards. Why would someone do that?

And why do people ditch a keeper -- which is the point of the game -- for three more cards that you will have to throw away at least two of, if not all three?

I kind of get it if there are keeper limits in order, but otherwise it seems odd.

Has anyone tried playing the solo game?

Is it as fun as playing with other people?

This is what happens when someone puts down "Draw 5" and then no one puts down a "Play x" card, or a "Hand Limit x" card for several turns in a row.

You end up with EVERY CARD IN THE DECK on the table.

Makes for a very strange game, I can tell you :)

Have you ever won a victory so great you just want to play it again?

A victory so intricate you planned it five, ten moves in advance?

A win so impressive you want the whole world to know?

Tell us about it.

Today I was playing Zombie Fluxx against the computer (as you do), and after the initial cards were dealt (three each) I was dealt a zombie, and "I Alone"

I figured what were the odds that my opponent would be able to play the car on their next turn?

You can probably guess what happened next -- they played the car and I lost on the first turn.

So -- do you have any equally fun stories of losing?

Being forced to play a card to let your opponent win? Losing on the first turn? Knowing you will lose but not being able to do anything about it?

Come -- let us commiserate (or laugh) together :)

Have you tried it?

What did you think of it? Do you like playing against others, or against the computer?

Can you think of any improvements (big or small)?
