First of all, welcome!

If you haven't already, please read the sidebar for the rules etc. If possible, alongside posting a generic YouTube or Bandcamp link to a song, if you could post links to other services you use (such as Spotify) then it makes it easier for people to listen on their preferred platform. This isn't essential, but I think it makes it easier for everyone to access the music and listen the way they want to.

And if you want to be a real saint, you could remove unnecessary parameters from links ๐Ÿ˜‰ (though I don't expect everyone to go to that much trouble).

Enjoy some good fucking music! ๐Ÿค˜

I'm normally not one to stumble across new thrash, but a friend of mine came across this EP and guessed correctly that I'd love this. Crusty, occasionally pretty groove orientated Crossover with an excellent sense of atmosphere, I took one look at the album art and knew I'd love every second of this EP.

Anthrax - Madhouse (resources.tidal.com)

It's a madhouse! ..or so they claim!

Fucking classic Anthrax, I challenge you to not bang your head at that main riff. But how boring that would be. Just enjoy the song lmao.

Hard to pick a single track to share from this album as each one is like 2 mins long, the titles of each track are repeatedly barked respectively, and there's a shit load of cacophony throughout. But it's such a good time - it's fun as hell lol. Loud, short and to the point, these guys combine death/thrash with hardcore and punk and it's very simplistically brutal. I'd imagine their entire set during a show is just a constant pit. I discovered this band from Chicago through a "similarity" to Lair of the Minotaur, and while the vibe can be a little similar, Ready for Death are off doing their own thing.

Five minute instrumental from a long time thrash band. Awesome riffs with melodic solos keep it interesting throughout. Fine red mist could either describe seeing red when you're angry or what is left of a human when they meet an excessively destructive force.

I'm a little torn on posting this as this is evenly split right down the middle of crossover thrash and hardcore. If I had to liken it to a similar band, it would be in the vein of Power Trip - you know, the chunkier side of crossover. But it's a little hard to ignore the Hardcore in the voice (nevermind the guest vocals from Knocked Loose, also hardcore punk).

When the riffs hit, though, they're a beast and I do find myself headbanging and groovin along, even to the breakdown at the end lol.

Guys, get a load of these nerds! Just discovered this energetic group last night lol gave this whole album a spin and picked this track as my share for today - the album's triumphant, mid-paced epic with a storming finish. These geeks play symphonic thrash metal with touches of power metal, vocals are a bit on the messy sneering side, kinda reminding me a tiny bit of Warbringer's John Kevill. I've never played D&D but with music like this, it does seem fun lmao.

50% Stoner metal, 30% heavy metal, 20% thrash, these guys from California are another of my recent collection from my sludge metal journey. Let me know if all this has been too same-y, I can post something different!

EDIT: shit I linked the wrong track lol, fixed now.

Fucking brilliant thrash we've come to expect from Canadian speed/thrashers Razor. I thought it had been a little while since the last post ;D. One of their great later albums, only being let down by the use of a drum machine instead of a drummer :(.

Classified as speed/sludge/thrash metal, these guys' main influences are Mastodon and High on Fire. Production is a little muddy, as all sludge should be, but the vocals are pretty low in the mix and I don't think I can hear the bass guitar lol. But I feel it's worth a share here. Enjoy some obscure stuff!

Very raw crossover. Not very fast but quite catchy.

Swedish speed metal, emulating the greats of the 80's, as if the 90's and beyond never happened. Speed metal forever \m/

These Canadians play old school thrash metal with heaps of melodic technicality. The solos in this are insane and will have you headbanging more and more as they progress saying "Holy shit!!" as I did when I first heard this lol. This guitarist is the power behind Autonoesis, the one man technical thrash/black metal band I posted a few weeks back.

Skourge performs crossover/death/hardcore - another unique mixture of extreme metal which works well, though not as catchy as I feel it could be. If the vocals sounds familiar it's because Seth Gilmore of Fugitive and Power Trip is killing it lol. Anyway, this band sounds a lot like if Obituary played a bit of thrash amongst their old school death.

Crossover time! This time we have a band attempting to kind of emulate Anthrax a bit here. Nothing original but it's got a decent production and it sounds fun.

This album released for me around 1.5hrs ago! Just finished, and it is amazing. Nothing too "experimental" just Warbringer kicking ass as per usual! Instruments and playing is on point, as to be expected from this band! Despite it fitting in well with Warbringer's usual discography, it is definitely memorable and definitely worth a (many) listens xD.

Sludge metal has such a wealth of undiscovered hidden gems, it's extremely criminal how unknown some of these bands are. I seriously wouldn't know about half of these bands that I upload unless I go out of my way to look for this shit similar to my other tastes, LET ALONE something completely new and unique, like that one Iron Age upload I had a few days ago. What a journey lol.

Anyway, LotM is like if you mix Celtic Frost and Eyehategod. Nice thick sound with punishing riffs and tight songwriting. Loving this every time I hear it.

Admittedly, I have still only heard their first album so far, even having posted another song from this album around a year ago. While I do definitely enjoy this album, it isn't really my go-to style, so I just haven't got round to giving the rest a chance. I think maybe it's because I'm not a huge fan of the guitar tone or vocals. However, like I mentioned, I do still really enjoy the music. Enjoy, and let me know what you think!

I was originally gonna post another sludge/crossover pick but my undiagnosed ADHD led me to share this. This frenetic technical death/thrash is for fans of Sadus and Atheist, it's right up there with the best of em!
