I have dozens of different photos of these fish and I'm still not sure about the difference between Stonefish and Scorpionfish. Taken near Grande Baie, Mauritius.

This was taken while diving in the Similan Islands, Thailand. I was diving on the liveaboard M/V Pawara.

I took this photo a few years ago while diving near Phi Phi Island, Thailand. At the time I was using a Nikon Coolpix L26 with an Ikelite housing and no strobe. I was on my first dive trip with a camera and really happy to see this beauty.

My focus is off just a bit (on the eggs not the rhinopores) and I'm not super enthusiastic about the bare rock, but they are gorgeous animals!

"When going to the dentist is just as terrifying for the dentist"

Giving a big stretch after a thorough cleaning by a bluestreak cleaner wrasse (Labroides dimidiatus), a Coral grouper (Cephalopholis miniata) looks far more intimidating than its usual lazy, bored self.

Okay lets go!, Bathytoshia brevicaudata Short Tailed Stingray. Tuhua, New Zealand in March 2023, Depth about 10m. Frame grab from a gopro video I took. It had a fishing weight hanging from its mouth, swam up really close, did a circle around me, then swam off

"Sometimes, someone is obviously covered in red flags"

Much like The Joker and Harley Quin, a mated pair of Harlequin shrimp (Hymenocera picta) are vividly coloured, and have a close relationship centered around love and murder. While every carnivore kills to eat, most are opportunistic hunters or proper predators, stalking and hunting their prey for a quick kill. Harlequin shrimp are the creepy couple who drag strangers (sea stars) into their lair and slowly torture them.
