So in addition to paying for multiple streaming services, there is people that paying an additional service so they can sync the watch history of all the different streaming servies? Damn.
I'm so glad I can just watch everything on plex.
Honestly since media companies screw me over for being the nationality I am and want to screw us over by making it so that legally watching everything would be financially unfeasible for even adolf titler, not to mention extremely annoying, it is cheaper and more comfortable to pirate and pay piracy fines.
I'm totally with you, especially the nationality thing. So first thing I pay for is my VPN. Allows me to read/watch geoblocked content and makes torrenting safer. For that value, it's a dirt-cheap investment. One example: You can watch LTW with John Oliver on youtube a few hours after it aired on HBO if you're in a country where the show has no official license (czech republic works).
For me it's not even about the money ... if it was at least comfortable enough, I'd probably be paying. I'm lazy like that.
But it's not convinient or comfortable. So now my money goes into hardware and I'm hosting my own streaming service, with blackjack and hookers!
Still, financially it will take a while to break even. Around 70 years compared to mid-tier netflix sub (but that was before they raised prices so it's less now).
