14 Million primary voters picked Biden in 2024.

He won the primary, as has every incumbent for many many decades.

We failed them, not the other way around.

[–] [email protected] 8 points 2 months ago (1 children)

What primary? The democrats did everything they could to shut down primaries. From refusing to run other candidates to outright cancelling votes.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 2 months ago (2 children)

I literally just told you the 2024 primaries. Are you an AI?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2024_Democratic_Party_presidential_primaries

There were 7 states holding their primary before Super Tuesday where Biden won 15 states all at once. Some states he won with a margin over 90%.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Oh yeah and what a race. The competition sure was... breathing. Probably.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Same as any other incumbent race.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 months ago

Ok but you still can't act like Biden winning the primary meant that he was actually the best person for the job. Being more popular than a couple of nobodies is hardly an accomplishment.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Oh yeah it was a real primary with real candidates. I mean the second place guy "Uncommitted" nearly had it in the bag....

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Lack of candidates is hardly a fault. What did you expect, Jill Stein?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 months ago (1 children)

People claim the democratic primary was rigged. This was done by the party "discouraging" people from challenging the incumbent. You then show proof of the primary that literally had no other options to a tin pot dictator level.

Lack of candidates is very much a fault.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 months ago (1 children)

People have been discouraged from challenging incumbents in every primary ever conceived, because splitting the party's vote is always a bad idea in first past the post.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 months ago (1 children)

See this is why the US had a broken system. You have a two party system where its only "pick the lesser evil" and when called out on that joke of a choice americans tell me that the choices are available within the political party systems. And here we are moving the goal posts again. No people have not been discouraged from challenging incumbents in every primary ever conceived.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 months ago (1 children)

We might not have a two party system if obstinate assholes would just pick the good option.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 months ago (1 children)

That is not a democracy, that is just a dictatorship with teams.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 months ago (1 children)

It’s literally not a dictatorship yet.

You should look into the definition of words before you use them.

A rigged primary, where the voters weren't really given a choice. Voters were very vocal that they didn't want him to run again, and the leadership openly ignored them. Next time, maybe the leadership should listen to the base that they claim they represent.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 months ago (1 children)

If he was winning primaries with 90% then clearly voters weren't vocal about that at all. The vocals ones we saw in media didn't properly represent the voters.

But when statistics showed Kamala Harris had a better chance at victory, he did drop out and gave his ticket, that he won fairly in a Primary Election, to her, his vice president.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Voters were saying it very loudly, the Democratic leadership just ignored them. Polls were very clear that nobody wanted either of them to run, and they both had a low approval ratings. The ticket wasn't his to give, it was up to the voters. The Democrats chose to skip the voters, so the voters abandoned them.

I don't see why anyone would expect voters to stick with a party that treats it's base so disrespectfully.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Polls? I've got the ultimate form of poll for you. A primary election, which he won.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 2 months ago (1 children)

And how did that work out? Did people come out to vote for the Dems?

Maybe if they had listened to the polls, the Dems would have had a candidate that people were willing to vote for in the main election

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 months ago (1 children)

They listened to their voters. It was a primary election. Not sure what the disconnect is here unless its your fantasy disconnected with reality.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 months ago (1 children)

The disconnect is obvious to me, but to spell it out: They were terrible candidates that the majority of General Election voters didn't want. Those voters made that quite clear before the primaries, and were ignored. Then the Primary Election voters got behind the bad choice anyway.

But General Election voters had already abandoned the Democrats, and rightfully so. The Primary Vote was only among those that were willing to vote for whatever terrible candidates the DNC pushed on them.

I'm a consequential, so by saying this you're just admitting to being a conservative cuck and a Trump supporter as a consequence of your actions.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 months ago (1 children)

I'm not sure what a "consequential" is, but I'm not a Trump supporter, nor am I a conservative. I proudly voted against him.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago) (1 children)

Your actions support Trump. Your words promote him.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Your actions support Trump. Your words promote him.

If you are not on my team, you are the enemy. If you are not on my team hard enough, you are the enemy. If my team does not win it is not their fault, but yours, as you are the enemy.

Why are people not voting "correctly"? Don't they know my team are the good guys? Don't they know they are supposed to like my team?

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 months ago (1 children)

You're describing a first past the post system as if you were trying to be ironic, lmao

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 months ago (1 children)

I live in a nation with first past the post, its not great but you know what helps? More then two parties. You americans think your broken system is not only common but the standard. It is not.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Having more than two parties can actually be harmful unless you first change the first past the post, because the parties that hold your stances will have their votes split between them.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 months ago (1 children)

because the parties that hold your stances will have their votes split between them.

That is a good thing, collation governments actually have to do their jobs. Are you in all seriousness really trying to say having more parties are a bad thing? What in the tribal team speak nonsense is this?

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Its a good thing if you're an astroturfing conservative.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 months ago

Oh? somehow I am on the other team when I don't agree with you? I am assuming that is what you are implying. Lets just ignore that if you had more then one conservative party it would be good for an astroturfing democrat.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 months ago

I still think there’s a good chance he could have won it the second time because there are enough sexist and racist democrats who stayed home who could have made a difference.
