didn't the show say elves only live a few thousand years? I was under the impression she's like 1000-2000 years old and will die in another 1000-2000 or something
Not that I know. There are elves in the setting that are way older than Frieren and the wiki states that they are nearly unaging.
I believe Serie is well over 5000 years old, and the only current threat to her life is assassination.

This reminded me of the anime From The New World (Shinsekai Yori). A pretty interesting watch if you've never seen it before.
