Filming the show required Sudeikis to move to the UK, away from his family. This caused him to feel estranged from his wife and kids. So he announced he would quit after the third season and moved back to the US. Very similar to what his character Ted Lasso was going through in the show, minus the divorce and awkward step-father situation.

I’m sure he’ll come back to the show a few times if they park a truck full of money in his driveway, but he’s no longer going to be the star.
