The difference is that Israelis have no basis to stand on. They are a settler colony of which every "historic fact" is faked. Their argument consists of :

Straight up lying.
Lying more
Lying and calling it Hasbara
Making the US president lie for them
lying lying, and more lying.

Russia stans however do have real arguments to stand on. Despite me not agreeing that they give Russia the right to annex Ukraine.
