This is totally off topic, but I'm torn on that woman's outfit.
On one hand, she looks like a total badass who isn't going to take shit from anyone. That fitted French military jacket is killer.
On the other hand, she must be wearing a corset to look the way she does. She must have suffered greatly under the demands of women's fashion.
For standing, corsets aren’t that bad. They’re not fun when you want to sit but they’re essentially providing structure like a bra would, with extra back support. They’re also necessary for carrying those heavy skirts around. They’re definitely not worth it for modern fashion but I watch a lot of historical costumers and they get pretty steamed about people saying corsets are bad.
Gotta imagine the dress and pants combo was stifling to say the least.
