Pro tip: add a bead of glue when assembling furniture, it’ll hold up way better

Big brain: make your furniture out of glue so it is incredibly sturdy

IKEA furniture and wood glue. Known trick for making it a lot sturdier.

A lot of our furniture is second hand as it felt sturdier than Ikea stuff. Might consider that option though if we need something we can't find second hand.
