Seeing mutilated dogs makes lots of people sad
Do you mean the ears?
I don’t think they’ve been cut, she just looks to be holding them in a back facing position.
Shitty people absolutely cut the ears to have that pushed back look all the time :(
A lot of pitties had their ears clipped and tails dockedbefore their current owners got ahold of them. If you get a dog from the shelter that had its ears clipped are you supposed to just hide them under a sheet every time you go outside? Should shelters just kill these dogs to avoid the shame of showing them? This is an absolutely braindead take.
All the confusion here is proof that I made the right choice in educating others. I will not apologize for educating.
Oh I didn't know she was mutilated. I don't know dogs that well.
Yea they take away part of the ears to pin them back like that so the face looks more friendly instead of a scary piercing glare with ears pointed up and forward.
Dogs also just hold their ears back like that when relaxed. I can't tell from this single image that they are docked and pinned.
I would have just as much assumed it's because she's a pitbull.
That is so sad! I looked it up and it seems common with Doberman breeds. Seeing side by side images of their ears made me sad. I totally get the downvotes now.
