What is Cyberpunk?

Cyberpunk is a science-fiction sub-genre dealing with the integration of society and technology in dystopian settings. Often referred to as “low-life and high tech,” Cyberpunk stories deal with outsiders (punks) who fight against the oppressors in society (usually mega corporations that control everything) via technological means (cyber). This looks like it might have more cyberpunk themes than the Schwarzenegger version while still retaining some of the light-hearted aspect of it. With Edgar Wright directing, I'm cautiously optimistic about this one.

My problem with these modern action movies is that the heroes are always trying to look so cool. Their presence on the screen feels shallow, like looking at their Instagram clips.

Give me the cool heroes of the 80s and 90s that acted like they were in the scene and not on a runway or in front of a cell phone streaming for their fans. This trailer is a big meh from me, but we'll see how the film pans out.

@bookmeat @Hammerjack They're so formulaic that you can tell what kind of action film it is based on their face and body. Not even the same actor, just the same cookie cutter look alike. The more the actor cost, the greater the over all production value. Brand name costs more than generic. But they all look and taste the same.
