I've seen people posting tweets from public figures talking about alligators, seen other people joking about alligators. It appears to me that the issue is political, not environmental, but I don't fully get the picture.

"Alligator Alcatraz" is the new immigrant concentration camp they've built in a swamp in Florida on Native land. It's surrounded by alligators and poisonous snakes and very remote.
