TLDR: "we don't know", says the article, "but we can hypothesize. Here's a bunch of theories you probably already considered. But nobody did proper research on any. So go figure. Have you watched Severance tho?"

Join a tabletop gaming club or group. I mean the obvious choice would be to join a club in general, but sounds like your challenge is finding the reason to go out or what activity to do. My suggestion is, through games you can meet and interact with a lot of people and some of these groups are operating in clubs, so have a look and see what's around your area. It could be anything from DnD to regular card games or any other board game you can think of.

You're not wrong but you got to keep in mind players actually want to show up, as opposed to workers who don't always want to show up but have to. No matter how good is your management, one sample has a significant bonus to their motivation which has nothing to do with management. Also, it often happens with guilds that players who want a reliable team move away from guilds with inactive or unreliable players and hop around until they find one dominated by a majority of active, reliable players.

I don't know about you guys but the few times I tried holy wafers (I'm not religious but had friends who were) I found them to be almost paper thin. These crispies are much thicker

I figured it would be getting jolted awake by the sudden pain of the fall inside the garbage truck first. But yes. Not pretty either.

Imagine going on about your already thankless job you do for a paycheck, doing everything as usual and killing someone as a result

I need an ELI5 on this. I'm really dumb when it comes to politics and its jargon. I've read the article but I'm not sure I understand. Let's see: Australia buys medicine from US and sells it a a really low price as part of its healthcare support scheme. So US now will increase these prices as a penalty of sorts? So Australia is forced to increase prices domestically? Is that right?

Bullied. I could at least get peace in solitude.

If I was deceived though, I would absolutely hate myself as I go along realizing who screwed me over and what they made me do. I'd become paranoid not knowing who to trust. Being alone might keep me away from getting deceived again but I wouldn't forgive myself for my past gullibility.

Can't say I relate or that I've watched much isekai. The only I've followed for a while was Overlord and it doesn't fit your bill that's for sure. Momonga is overpowered but morally mega flawed, which is precisely what keeps the plot interesting.

So I've been working in retail for a while and seen my share of odd and rude customers, but today I had my very first "Karen", and he was american also. (I'm not, and I'm in Australia).

The store I work for doesn't give their bags for free, we charge for them. This guy picked an online order and then threw up a tantrum and demanded to speak to a manager when I refused to give him a bag for free. Another team member (more experienced) just gave him the bag and he just left.

That does it I guess, but it's giving in to rude demands what sustains this kind of behavior imo. I'm not trying to protect the interests of the corporate I work for- it's just a stupid bag ffs, perhaps ask nicely? I've been called off both for giving away bags for free before as well as calling for the manager to deal with "minor issues".

So I'm asking, in general, how do you deal with these types of customers?

Asking after the privacy debacle and manifest. I'm not keeping up closely, but iirc Firefox is the browser recommended because of Ublock. After the privacy data issue I've noticed broken trust from Firefox users, recommendations in favor of switching browsers, and predictions saying Firefox is going downhill fast and that their forks won't be maintained for much longer.

So I'm here asking the seasoned sailors' thoughts, aye. Is this just a storm passing by or are you really considering jumping ship?

Clearly I haven't shot anything irl ever and don't know much about weapons either. Oh and relax, I'm not planning on shooting anyone.

Question comes after videogames, which can sometimes have both weapon types used interchangeably and/or behaving in a similar way.

I would personally believe guns are easier, and that the only advantage a bow would ever have is that they're not as noisy. But I hear people say aiming with a bow is easier. I guess the type of bow and gun used would also weigh on the matter?

Crosspost... Well I can't crosspost apparently, my apologies

You guys did great with your Christmas predictions last time so I'm counting on your help

In any way you know of. I find people here are more aware of politics and ethics behind big companies and this is what prompted my question but I'm also curious about any other differences.

I'm in Australia and I've only used Ebay and AliExpress so far. I find AliExpress has more variety and somewhat cheaper prices but I don't know why or anything else.

When I first heard about Temu it was always in relation to dodgy products and sex toys so I didn't pay much attention to it, however lately I keep hearing about people buying regular stuff without issues. Never tried it myself though.

Please help so I can do my groceries properly in advance, thanks

So I accidentally turned backup on with my butt or something the other day, and Google Photos decided it was fine to upload to the cloud all my photos which I keep locally on my device.

I don't need or want cloud backup, thanks very much, and I didn't enjoy having to research how to delete all the images from the cloud while keeping them in my device, and enjoyed even less then doing all of that manually.

Zero out of five stars, I did not enjoy and would not recommend.

Now, can you recommend a free app that lets me browse and manage my own personal local collection of images? My preference is for something with an intuitive, easy to use interface. What are y'all lemmings using?

True answers only plz, don't get my hopes up with lies. I've been a good girl

I've been searching online for some trinket/budget gifts but couldn't find anything interesting. The person I have in mind for the gift is in his 60's, into tech and a geek, although the gift doesn't necessarily need to cater to his geeky side.

I'm just dropping the question here since Lemmy has a solid geek/tech userbase, and maybe some of you have better ideas than me.

TIA
