Amazon’s the only one I think could make a dent if they got serious about breaking into the gaming market.

Netflix can’t even make decent shows anymore, Apple would be too expensive or mobile focused, and Google can’t commit to anything.

Netflix can just throw money to attract game devs. They use this strategy for their mobile games and the games are actually pretty good, way better than the usual microtransaction-laden mobile games.

I'm a AAA game dev and a number of former co-workers are at Netflix nowadays. Like, a suspiciously high number.

They can't tell me anything (of course), but I can put two and two together.

If they pay their game devs anywhere near what they pay the rest of their devs then that's got to be the easiest career decision ever.
