It can't really be fully predicted how intense the migration, but we are expecting quite a bit.. if previous platforms (especially twitter) are any trend to look towards, expect traffic to intensify a bit. Probably even more than it already has.

For those coming from reddit Please bear with us as well, as well as the rest of the lemmyverse. If you're new to lemmy and the fediverse as platform, you may be confused as how to best find communities right now. lemmyverse.net/communities is a good start, make sure to tick the NSFW community display option. Welcome to the community, and bear with us due to the limitations lemmy currently has as a platform. Things are improving, but for the time being our current content policy is quite strict. It is temporary, and will be elaborated more so in the future as lemmys mod tools improve. There will be a link added to the sidebar that provides info as to why this is.

Be mindful of making sure your NSFW posts are properly tagged as well.

Yeah, this instance in particular I think won't get a big rush until Reddit nukes NSFW content entirely. I could see them doing that in the near future.

I truly pray that does not happen any time soon, not just for our sake but reddit as well. But if that happens we will weather that storm together. I do think with reddit going public, it's inevitable though.

There's still a bit of hope since even Twitter has "allowed" nsfw content during the days it has been publically traded

For what it's worth, I have no reason to think that the nsfw subs archived by Lemmit should stop working.

Then the only way to get to reddit nsfw content through a 3rd party app, would be through Lemmy. Now that's what I call poetic justice.

If they do nuke NSFW content I just hope we have our shit together for more content creators to easily switch.

The developer of Relay for Reddit (which miraculously managed to get a reasonable deal with Reddit?) shared that NSFW content won't be nuked until July 5th.

Honestly hoping they do lol; some of my favourite subs don't have a comm here yet

I hope people don't use that as an excuse to not make those comms here... That was the first bot I blocked

[–] usernotfound 1 points 2 years ago

The bot is just there to fill in the content gaps until it's no longer needed. So I'm hoping with you.

If reddit removes NSFW they will lose a lot of users
