The annual pretending Democrats don't uphold systemic issues because Trump is clearly worse. 🙄

[–] [email protected] 35 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I don't think that is what this post is saying.

[–] [email protected] 6 points 1 year ago (3 children)

Well uh... That's kind of the point? They're pretending the Democrats don't have problems.

[–] [email protected] 11 points 1 year ago (2 children)

No and you are exactly the person this post is aimed at. It LITERALLY SHOWS DEMOCRATS have problems but trump is worse. If you vote for no one you are saying you are 100% equally okay with either trump or Biden winning. If that is your intent then you do you. But you are refraining from voting as a form of protest against Biden than that is not only not helping your cause you are actively hurting your own cause. I am flabbergasted how many supposedly intelligent people do not understand the broad ramifications of their actions

[–] [email protected] 5 points 1 year ago

supposedly intelligent

Well there's your problem.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Lmao. You think his age and Israel are the only problems? Wow. Immigration, Housing, protectionist policies, and cost of living are also big problems. Not pushing to get rid of the filibuster, not even trying to appoint more SCOTUS judges to make it more representative of the country.

Dude the list goes on. This meme is blatant propaganda.

And no. Not voting for either one because you don't like either one doesn't mean anything other than that. You don't get to try to gaslight people. It also just makes us not want to vote even more.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I would try and correct you on your incorrect usage of "gaslighting" but I have a feeling you may have trouble understanding distinctions. Good for you for publicly announcing you're just as okay for trump being president as you are as Biden. Good luck in preferred candidate winning.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 year ago (2 children)

to psychologically manipulate (a person) usually over an extended period of time so that the victim questions the validity of their own thoughts, perception of reality, or memories and experiences confusion, loss of confidence and self-esteem, and doubts concerning their own emotional or mental stability

The constant refrain of calling us Trump supporters or telling us we're just as okay with Trump very much fits the definition. Not supporting Biden does not mean we support Trump. That gaslighting is how we got into this mess in the first place.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

That is not what the word gaslighting means, yet again. And I'm sorry but you're not REALLY so niave as to think third party is winning this election? In which case yes by your actions you are just as okay with trump as Biden. It's really not difficult to work out but apparently you have difficulty with the meaning of words.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 year ago

That's literally the Merriam Webster definition.

You're hilarious.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

It clearly is the same if you're going to go as far as to let Trump win over it.

But go ahead, keep gaslighting us minorities about how we're all just genocide supporters for wanting to live more than we want you to feel morally sound in not having to write a check mark on a fucking piece of paper to protect us here in the US.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I don't think they are. Biden has two problems on it's side of the scale. So the meme is clearly indicating that the Democrats have problems.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) (1 children)

Except Biden has a bit more than two problems and his supporters don't see those as problems. They're very much trying to hide his problems behind things they don't think are actually problems.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Yes I agree that Biden has more than two problems, I also think that some of the things listed under Trump also apply to Biden, but that wasn't what you initially said. You're moving the goal post.

I think if you would have started with this you would have gotten a much better response.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Eh I'm not writing academic papers here. This is a perfectly normal clarification.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Well, what are you trying to do here? You just trolling?

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Point out this meme is in bad faith.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Then you should attack it correctly, otherwise you are validating the meme and making yourself look like an idiot.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

No, it's reminding everyone that those issues aren't worth letting Republicans accelerate their agenda of femicide and bringing the genocide to America too.

[–] [email protected] 25 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

Oh no, Democrats have their issues, sure. Far as I can tell though, they every now and then do good, can be convinced towards reasonable action, and aren't trying to, at least openly, control everything from sex to a child's school lunch.

Is it perfect? Far from it. Though at least with them we have a chance to promote some positive change. It feels like a chance. One where we have a hand tied behind our collective backs, though a chance all the same.

[–] [email protected] 11 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Reality means holding your nose and picking the one that most aligns with you. Incremental progress or monumental regression. Your call

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I see no progress other than normal recession recovery stuff. I got to give him one thing, he said he's the status quo guy and he delivered.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I'm curious what your thoughts are on a 2nd term with Trump as President. Do you feel there will be significant progress towards achievable goals that support people?

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)
[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Oh, so you must want to support a candidate who has, at least, made and kept some promises?

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 year ago (2 children)

That's pretty reductionist. I want to support a candidate who isn't just the status quo or worse.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

It's realistic in this situation. I do agree that much of the time we should focus in supporting good candidates, not just who others say we should. This time though there have been words said, and promises made, that threaten the lives of potentially millions of people. My goal is Biden first, better after. For this time only it is what we have to do. Afterwards let's come together to make that positive change we all want happen.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

I did that in 2020. He passed on the chance to reform the system and prevent this exact situation.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Well by not supporting the status quo candidate you're supporting worse.

That's how the math works out, literally that's mathematically proven.
