I often get one cat and occasionally two cats, but to get all three of them sitting in between my legs is a high honor.

Please tell me that they chirp and trill at each other constantly like very small, furry old biddies.

Not like, all the time but fairly often. Especially if one is sleeping and another comes to snuggle up, there will usually be some chirp/trill talking while they get settled.
