Comaps for navigation. Replaced Organic Maps

Öffi for finding public transit connections. Sadly replaced Transportr which doesnt work anymore for me

Bura for weather forcast. Replaced Geometric Weather which stopped working quite a while ago.

Etar as a calender. Idk i dont use it too much but its enough for my needs.

Quillpad for note taking. Its a fork of a fork of apps which didnt get support anymore. Best notetaking app i came across so far. Love it. Looks good. You can keep it simple but it also has more than enough extra features.

KDE Connect Comes in super handy for quick transfer of files or just the clipboard between the PC and phone. Remote input and mediacontrol is also pretty sweet.

Material Files Best file explorer i know of. I tried so many over the years and its always the app which stays forever on my phones. Its not perfect but so far i found it better than anything else.

Silicone Calculator A simple and pretty calculator

VLC for local playback. Works well with folders which is a must for me. VLC just works for me on whatever device for 20 years.

Too lazy for the rest, sorry: Accrescent as an alternative appstore. From there: Ironfox as browser and ri music for streaming... music.

Pixel Camera, Google Photos and Snapseed are the only non open-source apps on my phone. Need to spend a bit more time with ImageToolbox. Maybe its enough to sunset Photos and Snapseed.

My dear lemmings. Remember there were exactly two reputable Switch emulators. Yuzu and Ryujinx. Both got shut down by the big N in one way or another. I'm sorry but everything since then was based on the work of the prior mentionend projects without major improvements but was filled with shitty drama. Wait it out. Thats my take. There might be a real alternative on the horizon. But so far all of them just burned out in the stupidestest way possible.

Who gives a shit. It isnt '15 or '16 anymore. We all know it for a decade now. He's a moron. We know. Could we focus on the fact that the fucking US is turning into a fascist state?

The first thing i noticed is the awful amount of TAA/Upscaling artefacting. Apart from that it looks good i guess. I mean its GTA. It will probably be an enjoyable game. But still: Fuck Rockstar. Fuck Take2.

i'm shocked.

If it gets announced or released: Cool.

But until then all those leakers, dataminers, third class publications, youtubers and everybody else who profits from the attention these leaks naturally drive can fuck right off. The current Valve leaks news cycle is so fucking annoying. Be it Deckard, Deck, HL, whatever else.

Apart from that i was pissed at Valve for the cliffhanger at end of EP2 with no follow up. But that was 15 years ago. Seriously its been over 10 years since i decided that i just stop care about this franchise. Still played Black Mesa when it finally hit 1.0. That was nice a throwback. But HL3? I just dont care anymore. Might check it out if it ever gets released or i dont. idk

Because Beamng runs their own mod repository which is even accessible ingame. This isnt about some random mod hosted on a randrom 3rd party site. This mod was released and distributed over servers and a services which Beamng as a company runs themselves. So reading a whole ass month after the incident my system and my passwords were potentially compromised fucking sucks. I'm not blaming them that the mod got uploaded. I'm blaming them that they made no attempts to publicly communicate: "yo, a mod containing malware got uploaded to our service and 3000 users downloaded it before we got informed that it was infected. If you happen to have downloaded the mod in x timeframe your system was likely compromised. Sorry yadda yadda"

[-] [email protected] 59 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago)

I had the mod installed in the timeframe were it had the malware. Fuck me.

But what really pisses me off is that i read about it first here on lemmy. Not on the Beamng forums/repository, not in the game, not in the steam announcments of the game. Like you distributed malware over your platform and the policy of you fucks is just to stay silent? Meh.

Hmm, in my experience there are lots of people in the emulation community who just enjoy to get things to work. So the fun comes from building up the romsets, setup the hardware, setup the emulator, test if the games are working, dial in the config for edge cases, maybe layer on a crt-shader, package everything behind a frontend, etc.

They rarely play through an entire game and instead just test out one of the thousands of roms they showed on to their handheld for a few minutes.

Yes, i'm talking also about myself. But after 10 years in the 'hobby' this seems to be pretty common.
