Update - the 200 votes threshold has been met so I'm planning on adding support for PieFed in the next release.

tl;dr - Please only upvote this post if you want Summit to support PieFed.

I was supposed to start doing these starting from v1.64.0, but I forgot so apologizes.

I will start creating one of these posts per major release to gauge interest in PieFed. Y'all have until the next major release to vote. If any of these posts reach 200 upvotes before the poll for the next release I will make the next release focused on adding PieFed support.

Thank you.

Shit. I didn't expect the 200 vote threshold to be met so quickly.

Congratulations to the community.

I'll look into PieFed support later this week.

I'm cirrently trying to finish a game I started over 2 months ago. I've just been chipping away at it and I just want to get completion kn it already.

Hello idunnololz,

Not sure how relevant is that metric for you, but the Piefed support announcement for Voyager reached 300 upvotes: https://vger.social/post/20512447

I don't think this translates well as the user base and population between the apps is vastly different. Also the post linked is an announcement, it's not really comparable.

Yes, that makes sense.

We were thinking also to share this post on [email protected] , would you be okay with that? A few people using Piefed but currently not Summit users could be interested.

That would be a huge improvement. I've put off creating a piefed account mainly because of the lack of Summit support.

Peifed has a lot of features that the Lemmy devs don't seem to want to support, and is rising fast in popularity because of it.

Just wanted to mention that Voyager has added Piefed support into its experimental beta right now and I can confirm it works. Still a bit rough on the edges, but it's starting to all come together.

Experimental Piefed support is now available for Voyager

There is also Photon support as well.
PieFed support is in progress

I know it's not Summit but it's something at least. And I'm sure things will improve as time goes on.

You're probably aware, but you know that lemm.ee is shutting down on the 30th of June? [email protected]

[-] [email protected] 13 points 4 weeks ago

Absolutely. I've been stalling to see if im going all in on piefed or not.

[-] [email protected] 16 points 4 weeks ago

I never got a confirmation that we could post this on [email protected] , otherwise I would have

One... Vote.. Away....

I'm just curious, do the downvotes counter the upvotes?

EDIT: WE FUCKING MADE IT LETS GOO

I'd love Piefed support. I've been reading up on it and I'm ready to jump ship. Summit is my favourite fediverse app, it works and looks amazing. So that combo would be incredible.

Edit: we made it!

Following the thread for weeks and now we finally made it. Can't wait for piefed support on the best Lemmy app.

[-] [email protected] 5 points 3 weeks ago

I'd love for Summit to support Piefed! Glad to hear it's in the works. I don't really get along with Voyager tbh. Just not my type of app.
