As I get older, I am finding more joy in these causal games. I am not really into fish, but I enjoy this one.

Do you know what the first commercial game for home computers was? Much has been said about the first arcade and console games, but when we turn to the realm of computers, information becomes far less accessible. What is commonly known is that in 1977, three computers were launched: the Apple II, TRS-80, and Commodore PET. Together, these are often called the «trinity of 1977», and they revolutionized the market by making computers something anyone could own and use.

I am playing as the lowest grunt with all help enabled. I am finding it difficult to identify discarded weapons by dying NPCs among the vegetation because there is no longer that identifying 'dot' over it now. Only dead people carry that dot.

I am beginning to run low on ammo.

Anything else you have seen so far?

I'm looking to buy an RX 9060 XT and was hoping to collect more sources comparing different models. I'm mainly looking for noise & temperature comparisons between the base models available.

So far the best source I found is Techpowerup. They have comparisons for stock behaviour and noise normalised between the 6 models they tested. Sapphire Radeon RX 9060 XT Pulse OC 16 GB Review
Unfortunately, they've mostly tested the huge triple fan designs until now. From the base models, the Reaper has terrible cooling and the Sapphire Pulse unfortunately only offers 1 DisplayPort connector.

Hardware Unboxed also only compares 3 higher end models in their review. AMD Radeon RX 9060 XT 16GB Review, Gaming Benchmarks!

Does anyone have reviews for the other base models, XFX Swift (dual fan) and ASRock Challenger?

I have been playing the game Cubic Odyssey. It has a lot of similarities to minecraft, except you can go to space!

Just like with NMS you collect ships, and there are a lot of them. Some of which can be obtained through salvage, which I didn't know for a long time.

Anyone else played this one? Great game.

It was refreshing to experience a game that had a mature, complex and multifaceted story that seemed to understand its audience was adults. Are there any more games like this?

https://store.steampowered.com/app/716490/EXAPUNKS/

EXAPUNKS is the latest open-ended puzzle game from Zachtronics, the creators of Opus Magnum, SHENZHEN I/O, TIS-100, and more.

I received it as a gift and started playing and ... I have questions. I am playing it on Ubuntu, and it's working great. I don't login anywhere else though so I'm hoping I can find people to talk to about it on Lemmy.

Cheers if you have played and can help. Sorry to bother otherwise.

Questions!

  1. How does it know who my steam friends are? Is that just an api or something?

  2. What are size, cycles and activity? It shows me these things but I can't find an explanation.

Thanks!

Best RAM setup (lemmy.world)
submitted 3 months ago by [email protected] to c/[email protected]

Let us assume there are 4 slots for RAM in a given motherboard A, B, C and D. Slot A and C form a dual-channel and B and D form another dual channel. (They are of same colour physically.)

Now I have 2 similar RAM sticks of 3000 MHz running in dual channel. I am buying 2 similar RAM sticks of 3200 MHz (only available option for me now)

What would be the best configuration to get most speed in games from these?

p - 2 sticks of 8 GB (3000 MHz)

q - 2 sticks of 16 GB in proper dual channel configuration

r - 2 sticks of 8 GB (3000 MHz) and 2 sticks of 16 GB (3200 MHz) inserted in the 2 dual channel configurations respectively.

For the uninitiated: it's a 2003 racing game which became more or less a meme, because every possible feature of the game just doesn't work.

I kinda feel the game is going to be released just because of the meme-status, so that people would notice the publisher's other games.

Either way, I appreciate making the game available, if just for laughs.

Much as I love the look of Quake RTX, it feels like it’s a barely there performance hog in modern games. You look at the benchmarks on the newer cards and so much is focused on ray tracing performance but I just don’t see that big a difference in Cyberpunk on an 3080 Ti unless I look really hard for it.

Am I alone in this? I’d much rather have 100+ non generated FPS at 4k over what raytracing is delivering in major titles. And by 4k I really mean my super modded Skyrim VR :)

Seems to be just Ravenholm and Nova Prospekt for now

Half-Life 2 is $1.99 right now if you don't have a license.

I've been a subscriber to humble choice since day 1.

I went back through the last 2 years of bundles (average about 1.5 activations per month) and added games to my account.

Next time I get the urge to buy something "because it's on sale" I'll go back and add things I've already paid for.
