I really don’t get why there’s never any effort when doing l this kind of “stock art” math/science.

So many fake chemicals, so many equations that are completely meaningless… all of those t-shirts that say “what part of [UNINTELLIGIBLE SCRIBBLING] do you not understand?”

Is it really that much effort to crack open a linear algebra textbook or look at an actual equation sheet? I always feel sniped by that shit, I tried to read it and figure out what it is but it’s always just a mix of completely random stuff, with half of it truncated to the point of meaninglessness.

Which is why it’s funny that he’s accusing them of having a political agenda. They are all arch conservatives!

Walters was really gunning for Department of Ed. Not as rich as McMahon though…

Liberterians[sic] with buyers remorse draw animated prick on animated prick.

I do think there should be a conversation about how South Park did normalize a lot of fucked up shit. I think it is entirely reasonable to argue that it normalized antisemitism and queer phobia in some ways - it taught a lot of twelve year olds that calling someone a “Jew” or a “fagg~t” was inherently funny.

Sorta like how on /b/ - the racism and homophobia was mostly joking originally (I’m talking like pre-2010). Taking it seriously/too far would get mocked. But:

Any community that gets its laughs by pretending to be idiots will eventually be flooded by actual idiots who mistakenly believe that they're in good company. (No attribution)

I love South Park, but their episode on trans people was just shitty and dehumanizing, and it gave people permission to parrot that kind of rhetoric. There’s a difference between being edgy and offensive, and saying the kinds of things that end up actually getting people hurt. South Park has always been at its best when it punched up (as in this episode).

I’m so fucking terrified tbh… I went in voluntarily last year and it got upgraded to involuntary after they accused me of lying during my assessment. Was physically assaulted and verbally abused. I got out after a day, but fuck, the nurse was joking about how since a weekend was coming up, they could keep me for five.

Tbh it’s been terrible lately. Free services increasingly go behind a paywall, they’ve limited how many convos you can have (invisibly, they just fall off), they show you fewer and fewer people.

The fediverse could be really useful in the dating space - capitalism means they never really want you to find The One, because then you might delete the app.

How long until this is expanded to transgender people, I wonder?

Most people’s understanding of Satan and Hell is more from Milton and Dante than from the Bible. With the “Rapture”, it’s all Tim LaHeye, Hal Lindsey and basement church videos regurgitation of John Darby.

No idea. He gave 5k to one before he kicked me out. What was our house is for sale now though.

My husband kicked me out once he realized flashing his money at 19 year olds worked. The teenagers didn’t ask him to stop playing FIFA and walk his dogs.

Not sure we are cognitively at that level yet. We are now watching Bluey’s dad pretend to give birth, and periodically remembering that water is in the sippy cup instead of the desired juice. This is so unpleasant that it has merited physical assault and temporary loss of liberty.

It turns out that some sides of magnets will not stick together. We have forgotten this fact and rediscovered it multiple times in the last thirty minutes, and this scientific discovery is not at all appreciated.

Admittedly, I had a similar reaction to Biot-Savert’s law back in E&M. I did manage to not throw things at the time.

Almost had a job - was all but hired, but whoops! I’m a gay trans man, should have considered that before I had hopes of being able to pay back my college loans.

What would be a realistic plan for driving straight down south to Mexico City and just knocking at every school door saying “¿necesitas maestro?” Or really, I’ll stop at the first city with access to testosterone and maybe a nice gay night scene.

I assume security going into Mexico is a lot easier to clear than the other way around? Visas probably cost money I don’t have LOL

Oklahoma DHS is a fucking disgrace.

There needs to be a federal investigation.

I’ve sat in fucking court and hear them laugh off runaways. Zero interest in looking for them, zero care.

And a kid is fucking DEAD.

It feels like that is part of what’s going on right now in the US. We are so overwhelmed with complete shit, while we move towards losing any form of regulation over business and the idea of democracy itself.

I feel like continuing to read it is going to force me on blood pressure medication. I knew that the US did a lot of ratfuckery to support regimes like Pinochet’s, but now I want to convert to Christianity just so I can believe there’s a hell for Milton Friedman to burn in.
