Boo, they used YouTube for hosting

Edit: I'd been warned and I actively put in the effort to watch that... Ugh. They did us a favor by putting it on YouTube, I could have just not watched it. 🤮

I have an e-bike. I think it's hilarious when I'm on the bike paths doing 20 mph and some MAMIL passes me. Her top speed is about 26 mph and yeah getting passed by a penny farthing would be even funnier.

Quite a few libraries have officially dropped late fees altogether. They just want the book back.

"The bill that passed the House Thursday would not prohibit ACA health plans from covering gender-affirming care outright, but it would restrict care by making it effectively unaffordable, said Lindsey Dawson, director for LGBTQ health policy at KFF. "

Stolen from Mastodon.

Don't stop boycotting, but it may be a factor in what we saw today, at the very least it's helping the Israeli government's advertising to be more effective. ESC really needs to do something (ideally ban Israel) because Israel has made Eurovision even more explicitly political than it was before.

Hope this is okay here, I read the community description and I'm still not clear, but now I want to see someone slap an electric motor on and commute to work in an office chair.

Another favorite pastime was digging a tunnel under his home; he attributed the secret of his success to "visits by elves" while he worked in the tunnel: "While I'm digging in the tunnel, the elves will often come to me with solutions to my problem."

Wikipedia cited a rather entertaining Time article as a citation for this.

The question definitely used to be "Have you traveled outside of the country recently?"

And if you'd decide to leave, where would you go?

Context for why I'm asking: I'm trans and currently live in Minnesota, I moved here from Florida so I have some idea of how miserable big moves can be. I can get EU citizenship which makes me very lucky, but... Do I sit here and hope Minnesota can protect me from 🥭 or do I try to build a life somewhere else, again?

Dude's Wikipedia Page is rather interesting. He got shot by Prince Pierre Bonaparte over a proxy duel.

Hot take, I like the sphere and the goofy stuff they've done with it.

Google killed off their own cached pages last month and they're now using IA as a replacement. Free linking is definitely important, but this is Google we're talking about, and them using IA to save money - this feels a lot more exploitative if Google isn't funding them in some way.

I was kinda worried when I saw the subject line of the email.

Steam is actually pretty decent, by company standards.

I hate the fact that I'm only about 90% sure you're joking.

Can't possibly make it worse than shoving ads from hate groups. On my computer, I use Firefox with adblock, but on my phone and tablet I had been using the YouTube app until a few days ago. Google decided to show me a PragerU ad on mobile, so I decided to switch to Firefox mobile to watch YouTube. And the app either moved or removed the 'don't show this ad' selection.

I saw the headline and wondered if this was a repost. Nope. If I had a nickel for every time this guy has been arrested for ocean hamster wheel shenanigans, I'd have two nickels. Which isn't much, but it's weird that it happened twice.
