Is that mold?! I knew Ireland was wet and humid but goddamn.

Yes that is black mold, it's a problem in a lot of unventilated houses here but I've never seen it this bad. Shocking that somebody sleeps in that room, in other pictures you can see discarded inhalers on the floor.

It's really bad that people end up living like this.

God damn.

The responsibility should obviously be on the landlord if it’s rented, but if you’re actually having to live there regardless then I don’t know why you wouldn’t attempt to clean it…

It’s going to come back again, but it would be better than nothing.

I knew someone who lived in a rented bottom floor flat in a converted house with mould like this. She scrubbed the walls more or less every day, tried every product under the sun, had dehumidifiers running when she could afford the extra power draw... but the mould bloomed through the paint again so quickly it made essentially no difference to the air quality, and little to the stains that developed. The landlord would paint over it every once in a while and acted as if they were doing her a huge favour by doing so.

Oddly enough, once she could afford to move out her unexplained health issues improved immensely...

Sorry that became a very big rant.

TL;DR cleaning the mould religiously doesn't necessarily stop it from looking like that after a while

Def looks like a neckbeard gamer den

That's all suitably horrific but what is the black cloth hiding?

Spot on the wall that doesn't have mold, makes it look weird

[–] [email protected] 6 points 2 years ago

Makes sense. And here's my wondering if it was furry porn.

That's not a black cloth, that's decades of dust-covered cobwebs draped over each other.

I call that "Halloween-ready".

Denser layers of black mould!

I didn’t know you could get a house when you purchase black mould!

But does it come with the Vader portrait?

[–] [email protected] 5 points 2 years ago (1 children)

I never knew Vader had a beard until I saw this picture!

Selfie of the owner?

[–] [email protected] 11 points 2 years ago

Now that's mouldy!

That's the weirdest wallpaper pattern I've ever seen.

It's unique and changes the more you breathe its spores.
