Project 2025 will rob people of their lives.

[–] [email protected] 51 points 9 months ago (2 children)

First USA privatizes the army. Then China offers to pay triple if the private army turns against the USA and Xi calmly claims the White House.

[–] [email protected] 23 points 9 months ago (1 children)

Xi could cut out the middleman and just buy Congress. They are already privatised.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 9 months ago

Unfortunately, the modern US Congress only accepts payment in Bitcoin.

After the collapse of the American-backed government in Afghanistan, China shrugged and opened diplomacy with the Taliban. I think they'll adopt more or less the same attitude when America is taken over by a private military brought to you by MvDonald's.

Troops... Or, as Trump calls them, "suckers".

[–] [email protected] 12 points 9 months ago (2 children)

I hate trump but he’s honestly right here. Imagine signing up to join the military to murder brown children overseas in order to further enrich american corporations.

[–] [email protected] 6 points 9 months ago

They are suckers because they keep voting for the assholes sending them into the meat grinder.

[–] [email protected] 26 points 9 months ago (1 children)

privatize military healthcare, cut back on disability and pensions

The military is already having major recruitment issues, if they do this recruitment might actually drop to zero.

Critical support.

I wouldn't be surprised if half the reason we don't have higher-ed reform is because of that. If college were free or even affordable, nearly nobody would go to the military.

Hell part of why we got so entrenched in Vietnam was because our economy couldn't find room for all the grownup boomer kids. So just institute a draft and send them off to the jungle to die instead.

[–] [email protected] 20 points 9 months ago (2 children)

I'm all for cutting military spending, but this is not the spot to cut. Stop ordering Jets nobody wants, Armored Personnel Carriers that don't safely meet the role, and bullshit other places that spend when they are unneeded. Soldier benefits are necessary.

Don't wanna be that guy, but this seems pretty far down the list of awful stuff it would bring.

Every entry is written like : We'll destroy this freedom we don't like as well as anything else we don't like. Followed by: We'll dismantle these other human rights plus anything else we don't like.

It's literally "We're going to do whatever we want and we're going to make anyone who opposes us an enemy of the state. Thus removing all rights to personhood for those people."

If they get control, slavery will return to America in less than a couple years.

Sure they'll be called "Prisoners with jobs." and instead of "just" black people. It will be all poor people and a bunch of women and queer kids

This plan is a recipe to create a ruling class who trade in the lives over humans. Especially the idiots that vote for them.

Ok so I got a bit ranty.. but the thing is. I'm writing this thinking it sounds pretty hyperbolic right? Sounds like I'm blowing it way out of proportion.. but I read it and think.. NO it's even worse than that...

[–] [email protected] 31 points 9 months ago (2 children)

I think the intent here is to make sure army vets understand voting for the trumpet is not in their best interest.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 9 months ago

Yeah, I know, and it's totally true.. I support the message. It just feels like a drop in the ocean compared to the other horrifying outcomes.

You think that's the end game for some people? I think it's worse. I don't think it would happen immediately, but I think things escalate over the years especially as they find they can't simply deport everyone they don't like, and not everyone will be "fit" for slavery. You can imagine where I'm going I am sure.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 9 months ago

Yeah. I was trying my best to not spiral into the worst case.

We already have “prisoners with jobs” (slaves) in America. Don’t try and act like America isn’t already a racist shithole.

So?

-Patriotic Republicans!

[–] [email protected] 5 points 9 months ago (5 children)

Has Trump agreed to follow this project? I just keep seeing you guys talk about a plan a group made and then are pretending that everyone agrees.

[–] [email protected] 23 points 9 months ago (5 children)

Good point! Will the man who literally Sold Out the United States of America to our Enemies go along with this plan that promises to Enrich him with Wealth and Power? I don't know!

He says he's got nothing to do with it. Yet-he's got senior advisors and past appointees that helped write it and support it. He says he needs the heritage foundation -the organization that made it, to accomplish his goals. His super PAC runs ads for it. He stands in front of a podium and calls for things that are pretty identical to what's in it.

Stop watching the mouth and look at the goddamn hands.

He will say anything to lever himself more power because the only way he out runs the shadow of his crimes is by becoming president again.

Buy him a hamberder and he will agree to anything.

[–] [email protected] 10 points 9 months ago

Yes/no.

On the "let's all remain calm" side we should remember that white papers like these are created and circulated before every presidential election. They are not party policy, merely suggestions.

But then we can remember that the Iraq War was a 1998 Heritage Foundation white paper proposal for the 2000 election.

I think it's more of a concern that any single one of these steps happens it means completely dismantling modern democracy. The details don't matter
