Good for America.

[–] [email protected] 30 points 7 months ago (1 children)

you fucking morons

You don't need to restore Roe.

You need an actual law enshrining it as a right.

I'm not a judge, but I can definitely see why Roe was overturned. So don't play stupid games, don't rely on a Court to interpret a certain Law a certain way, just enshrine it in law. Black ink on white paper.

Oh of course, we'll just go ahead and do that tomorrow! Sheesh, what were we thinking? Thank you so much for your enlightening remarks. It was so obvious this entire time!

Rather just restore, improve. It was said Roe is incomplete and should be revisited for better and clearer coverage.

Kind of tough when Republicans are in charge of the house of representatives.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 7 months ago (2 children)

Last I checked, the house of representatives doesn't keep him from speaking out and pushing the issue.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 7 months ago* (last edited 7 months ago) (5 children)

I never made any claim that he wasn't pushing the issues, but cool. I was merely rebutting the reply above mine.

Maybe don't defend someone implying that he's not pushing the issue next time.

[–] [email protected] 40 points 7 months ago* (last edited 7 months ago) (1 children)

So why hasn't Biden?

.

Last I checked, the house of representatives doesn't keep him from speaking out and pushing the issue.

This you?

I never made any claim that he wasn't pushing the issues

This too?

[–] [email protected] 3 points 7 months ago* (last edited 7 months ago) (1 children)

Actually NO! That "So why hasn't Biden" IS NOT ME...

For fucks sake. Can you people get a grip? Read the damn user names.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 7 months ago

And the second and third quotes, that were you?

Take the goddamn L, man. You made a statement in ignorance, you were wrong, and you were given evidence showing you were wrong. Accept it, learn from your mistake, and be better in the future.

[–] [email protected] 30 points 7 months ago* (last edited 7 months ago) (1 children)

My comment was about restoring Roe and you said there's nothing stopping him from speaking out about it. Which he is doing. So I'm not really sure what you were rebutting.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 7 months ago* (last edited 7 months ago) (3 children)

I was rebutting the reply saying that The House of Representatives was stopping him from speaking about it...holy crap can you guys not follow a comment thread correctly or something? I'm literally saying the same thing you are, but because some numb-nuts didn't check the names in the threads and called me a troll I get dogpiled?

You people are what's wrong with Lemmy.

[–] [email protected] 9 points 7 months ago

You might want to try following the thread a little better if that's what you think is happening here.

I'm the person you originally responded to. I said Biden hasn't restored Roe because of the house. I though it would be clear from context since he is speaking about it.

[–] [email protected] 8 points 7 months ago (4 children)

If everyone misunderstood you then maybe the problem isn't with them.

If that is what you were trying to say you expressed yourself poorly. It's possible to clarify your position without ranting at other people for your mistake.

Don't worry too much about it. You're being dogpiled because that's what lemmy's centrists do when they encounter someone who isn't cheering loudly enough for Biden.

Last I checked, being either disingenuous or a moron doesn't prevent you from using Google to look up whether or not Biden failire in calling for the restoration of roe you're implying is true.

I mean It's not like I'm claiming you're a disingenuousmoron who can't use Google, right?

Funny how that works

[–] [email protected] 13 points 7 months ago* (last edited 7 months ago) (1 children)

Alright, then you strongly implied Biden doesn't speak out about that. There's been many people on abortion related threads who falsely say or imply that, and I don't know any other way someone could reasonably read your comment. It's still there to place an edit afterwards if you'd like to clarify what you meant exactly.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 7 months ago* (last edited 7 months ago) (1 children)

I didn't imply anything, the guy I replied to did! And here you are all jumping my ass about it. I don't need to edit shit; you need to stop jumping to conclusions.

[–] [email protected] 6 points 7 months ago

To be fair, that was a different person.

In March:

Tonight, President Biden will again call on Congress to restore the protections of Roe v. Wade in federal law so women in every state have the freedom to make deeply personal health care decisions. And the Biden-Harris Administration will continue to take executive action to protect access to reproductive health care, including through ongoing implementation of the President’s three Executive Orders and a Presidential Memorandum issued since the Court overturned Roe v. Wade. To date, the Administration has taken action to:

  • Protect access to abortion, including FDA-approved medication abortion;
  • Defend access to emergency medical care;
  • Support the ability to travel for reproductive health care;
  • Strengthen access to high-quality, affordable contraception;
  • Safeguard the privacy of patients and health care providers; and
  • Ensure access to accurate information and legal resources.

biden's not running LOL

[–] [email protected] 7 points 7 months ago

Don't restore it, make a better law and make it a human right.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 7 months ago (1 children)

How would "restoring" work? Is that legislation, or modifying the supreme court, etc?

[–] [email protected] 5 points 7 months ago

Basically legislation. Dobbs just said there wasn’t a constitutional right, but that doesn’t mean there can’t be a federal law that makes that a right. A federal law could effectively restore this right (although it wouldn’t make it a constitutional right, which would be harder to take away).

[–] [email protected] 4 points 7 months ago (11 children)

Another mythical carrot to lure voters to the polls, again. I cant imagine people falling for this lie, again.

Not much for trolls to eat from that link though, bro is murdered

[–] [email protected] 4 points 7 months ago (2 children)

Deflecting and burying your head in the sand doesn't get rid of the fact that Democrats have promised time and again to protect rights when in reality they've weaponized them so they can raise campaign money.

[–] [email protected] 22 points 7 months ago (1 children)

LOL harris will have the biggest inauguration crowd ever

[–] [email protected] 14 points 7 months ago (1 children)

Nobody deflects quite like a right-wing hate-fueled empathy-lacking doublethinker

[–] [email protected] 2 points 7 months ago

You are closer in ideology to Republicans than any leftist is to Democrats.

[–] [email protected] 31 points 7 months ago (3 children)

"I don't believe Kamala actually wants to restore Roe v Wade, so I'm going to support the party that took it away in the first place!"

Makes sense to me!
