you think? .... at this point headlines like this feel more like sarcasm

Are you denying Israel has the right to start World War III due to its half century of barbaric apartheid occupation and abuse of the Palestinian people?
Annihilating your neighbors because they refuse to bow down to your genocidal regime is self defense!
OP loves to make Israel look like the only ones ever wronged.
Til can't call that out when it's pro Israel
And it was all started by Bibi and his right wing coalition.
FTA:
Hezbollah has been sending rockets into northern Israel since the start of the Gaza war, which began after Hamas and other militants invaded Israel on Oct. 7, 2023, and killed nearly 1,200 people.
Do you think the article should rephrase this section?
Yes you are right, Hezbollah are acting in accordance to international law and taking actions to stop a genocide as well as defending themselves, which is perfectly reasonable.
I don't believe I said that. Can you provide a source indicating that they've changed their ways?
The conflict started before the current war.
"The conflict" the article is discussing is very clearly referring to the current war, and distinguishes this from previous shadow wars. The preamble also specifies the context of "the conflict."
The Middle East is in much more volatile situation than it was even a year ago. This conflict has expanded far outside of fighting primarily between Israel and Hamas.
"Began" -> "increased"
I think "began" is correct.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Israel%E2%80%93Hamas_war
The war began when Hamas-led militant groups launched a surprise attack on Israel on 7 October, which involved a rocket barrage and a few thousand militants breaching the Gaza–Israel barrier, attacking Israeli civilian communities and military bases.
Let's forget everything that happened since 1948, right?
Ah yes, historic grievances again. The context of the article is clearly spelled out, as described previously. My discussion of the matter is pertinent to the content of the article, and I myself am not attempting to broaden context in order to force an angle the article isn't making.
historic grievances again
Oh the irony.
and I myself am not attempting to broaden context in order to force an angle the article isn't making.
Why are people who defend Israel always such insufferable weasels?
You're hiding behind an article that already takes things out of context and then you act as though it is the right thing to do to not provide any.
Of course you can't "broaden the context", or your entire point would fall apart. This is what Israel and its supporters do, they pick an arbitrary point in time, pretend that the conflict started then, and use that as an excuse to escalate.
I find it extremely insulting to mine and our collective intelligence when someone tries to argue otherwise. Nobody buys your victim complex anymore, have some decency and self respect and stop peddling it.
You should let Wikipedia know then.
Maybe we should talk about how many people Israel pays to constantly skew reality in their favor on websites like that.

Til Wikipedia untrustworthy.
This battle of ideas on Wikipedia’s platform formed a crucial part of the encyclopaedia’s commitment to neutrality, which according to Sanger, was abandoned after 2009. In the years since, on issues ranging from Covid to Joe Biden, it has become increasingly partisan, primarily espousing an establishment viewpoint that increasingly represents “propaganda”. This, says Sanger, is why he left the site in 2007, describing it as “broken beyond repair”.

Wow yea COVID huh.
Why don't you drop the effort and just start grunting?
I don't get the reference.
Oh ok.
If I hit your face for 10 minutes straight and then stop 30 seconds (to take breath) and right then you hit me back, can I say "I wasn't hiting you! You are the aggressor! I have the right to retaliate!"?
Interesting characterization.
So basically you are just talking out of your ass?
America and Biden are losing all credibility on the world stage. You can't claim to be the "world police" and advocate for an ethical solution while doing what they did. For all of Bidens' accomplishments, such as the infrastructure bill and the chips act, this disaster will be his legacy. The career politician who ran on being the best choice for both domestic and foreign relations who couldn't rein in his attack dog despite having all the power to do so.
Iran's limited strikes on a system they know will block 99.99% of missiles? Or Israel invading another country?
I need that goose to chase these bad faith headlines around.
Hamas is getting what it wanted, albeit slowly.
I can't see Israel not accelerating towards fascism and repression after the last year. But I wouldn't ascribe this to Hamas planning because they haven't shown themselves to be that strategic or intelligent.
E: Anyone looking at this comment funny should look at the latest polls in Israel. Specifically the popularity of right wing and settler nationaltst parties. Also look at the opinions about the war among Israeli Jews and non-Jews. Finally look at recent polls about right/left lean and compare it to older ones. Then think how things are gonna go in the aftermath when a minority raises this issue while the majority has to keep up the belief that the deaths are a lie and if they aren't they were unavoidable, and if they weren't unavailable they'd become terrorists anyway.
