Hahahaha

I might add… dark mode version too? πŸ€”

[–] nicknonya@lemmy.blahaj.zone 2 points 3 months ago (2 children)

how would dark mode fire work?

[–] aeharding@vger.social 3 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Probably just darker flames, IDK. Here's what was done by @fer0n@lemmy.world in the past: https://github.com/aeharding/voyager/pull/1607

Here's the requirements for adding to a build btw:

  1. 1024x1024 PNG
  2. No transparency
  3. (Ideally) dark mode variant
  4. Oh and let me know how to attribute it, like what handle you want for credit in the app icon page

I also recommend to use https://iosfeeds.com/tools/icon-preview to test on the home screen. I added your image above, and it looks like maybe it would show more detail if it was cropped/zoomed in a bit (similar to the main app icon)

i'll try lol, but i give no guarantees

[–] aeharding@vger.social 3 points 3 months ago

No pressure, it’s just for fun!

[–] aeharding@vger.social 2 points 3 months ago

Oh.. and the icon source files are here if that helps!

[–] ANIMATEK@lemmy.world 21 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Maybe go ahead post the final icon? Pretty sure the dev won’t mind to include if it’s good enough.

I've already put it on my "creative nerd" backlog :) just need some time with my other laptop with Inkscape and I'll do it (if someone else doesn't beat me to it.)

You could probably use an AI website to cut out the dog and chair, if that's what you're going for. Like a remove background service

[–] nicknonya@lemmy.blahaj.zone 15 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago)

pretty sure that comic is copyrighted by the author and voyager wouldn't just use it without permission.
also you really don't need ai to crop out that simple of a shape, you can do it in like 1 minute in GIMP. in fact i don't know if ai background removers would work for drawings, afaik they're usually for photos

[–] M137@lemmy.world 6 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago) (2 children)

Firstly, why use an AI website for that? Are you one of those people that are so helpless and unskilled in everything that you've fully embraced the "use AI for everything" lifestyle? It would be super easy to cut it out yourself. Secondly, as said, it's someone else's work and probably copyrighted. And even if it weren't, it's morally wrong to just take someone's art and use it for stiff like this.

It's scary how you don't realise what you've shown everyone about yourself with that comment. Laziness, stupidity, moral and legal ignorance, lack of self insight etc.

[–] FooBarrington@lemmy.world 4 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Cutting stuff out is one of the best use cases for AI that I've seen. Getting an okay-ish cutout by hand is easy, but a good one can take forever.

[–] Draegur@lemm.ee 2 points 3 months ago (1 children)

it's basically content-aware-fill. but the scene and its elements are simple enough that it'd just be better to draw it from scratch for oneself.

[–] FooBarrington@lemmy.world 3 points 3 months ago

Sure, if you can do that. I don't think that's a better solution for getting a cut-out version if that's all you're looking for though.

I didn't mean for that to be the icon for the app, just for the op to use it as their example. Calm your tits.
