“BD” refers to Franco-Belgian comics, but let's open things up to include ALL Euro comics and GN's. Euro-style artistry from around the world is also welcome.

* BD = "Bandes dessinées"
* BDT = Bedetheque
* GN = graphic novel
* LBK = Lambiek
* LC = "Ligne claire"

Please DO: 1) follow good 'netiquette' and 2) the four simple rules of lemm.ee (this instance) when posting and commenting. As for extracts, they're fine, but don't link to pirated downloads. Moderation will be based on readers' willingness to follow the above guidelines.

The designated language here is English, with a traditional bias towards French, followed by other Euro languages.

When posting foreign-language content, please DO include helpful context for English-speakers.

This is evidently from a promotional portfolio (but for who, or what?) titled Les Dieux (Phylactere publisher, Nov 1983) containing eight illustrations from eight artists, two of them quite big (Caza & Druillet).

(cover)

When I originally posted this, I only included the two above. I later realised that all eight were shared at BDT as individual entries corresponding to each artist. So then--

Artist: Didier Eberoni

Benoît Sokal

Denis Sire

Philippe Druillet

Michel Rouge

Pascal Somon

I really like the Druillet, the arrangement somehow gives me dead island vibes

Wow, I don't think I've ever seen that series before. Pretty cool and mysterious.

I'll just leave the WP link for anyone who happens to read this far:

That doesn't look like the head of a falcon. More like an Ibis. Are you sure this isn't dad-bod Thoth working at the office?

Damn, good question..!

You know, even as I was posting this, I was thinking "that's NOT classic Horus, weird"

So let's retitle this then as Thoth..?
