Probably most people that post in this community don’t use twitter and are just reposting old screenshots

Mastodon has some funny showerthought posters but in terms of real life content there was little interesting news.

Only alternatives are Instagram or TikTok but moving there solves nothing.

Have not tried it. I see no point in going from current Twitter to future Twitter. Dorsey already sold out once.

Unless the underlying tech fundameltally changes (Lemmy/Mastodon style) the result will be the same.

I occasionally use Mastodon but unless it gains users, it simply cannot compete.

The type of manipulation I'm talking about - opaque algorithm that covertly decides what's viewed more often - is not present on Lemmy. Unless you can prove me wrong.
