Quite right. They should play by the rules and inherit their seats from their fathers or by bribery. Tradition is everything in the Lords.
UK Politics
General Discussion for politics in the UK.
Posts should be related to UK-centric politics, and either a link to reputable news source, or be a text post.
If you think "reputable news source" needs some definition, by all means start a meta thread. (These things should be publicly discussed)
Posts should be manually submitted, not by bot.
Disappointing comments will generally be left to fester in ratio, outright horrible comments will be removed.
Message the mods if you feel something really should be removed, or if a user seems to have a pattern of awful comments.

Now then I read a guardian piece by Sandy Totsvig attacking this very thing the other day. The Church is against Gay Marriage was the thrust of her arguement.
I'm anti theist so I fully support taking the Church out of any and all Governments decision making. I think it's disgusting in this day and age that a single Religion has a say in my life against my will.
Get imaginary friends out of politics.
The whole lords thing is shambolic. Starmer has promised reform. I for one look forward to it. But I have to say that this group has had some of the most scathing criticism of the legislation these scumbags are pushing through.
i think bishops are way down the list of people who shouldn’t be Lords. That fuckweasel Hannan is in there, theres all kinds of bad smells after Johnson finished with his Pets Win Prizes. Now theres piss all up the wall, and on the fancy red leather
To be really honest, the entire appointemnts process needs looking at.
But is it important for the bishop to be wished well?
