You have to define keybindings for any application you'd want to launch. That includes an app launcher like rofi.
Edit the ~/.config/sway/config file
Sway should work very similarly to an older WM called i3. I suggest looking for i3 tutorials on youtube.
In a nutshell -- sway has a "all-in-one" config. You can set up keyboard, mouse, screen resolution and even the screen Hz on its single file.
But yeah, if you want to (really) fiddle with it, you've got to learn how to deal with the config file first.
