Funny. As an American concerned about US controlled cloud hosting, I have been opting for Swiss and Icelandic options instead for years. (For my personal stuff)

Funnier still is that some of our clients are some of the largest firms in Europe and they are all opting to move to Azure against our very strong suggestions that they keep the systems in-house. Watch the EU pass on-shore hosting requirements. That'll be such a shit show.
