Summary

Donald Trump’s tariffs on Canada and Mexico have unsettled markets, sparking fears of a “Trumpcession.”

Investors, once hopeful for a U.S. “golden age,” are now wary of economic uncertainty caused by shifting trade policies, Musk’s disruptive government layoffs, and unclear fiscal strategies.

Businesses and consumers are hesitating on spending, weakening growth prospects.

U.S. consumer confidence has dropped, and concerns over the dollar’s status as a global reserve currency are emerging.

"Investors, who hoped that Trump would just give them tax breaks and do what they wanted, find his uncoordinated rambling and fascist leaning to be detrimental to their profits"

Womp womp thoughts and prayers 💭🙏

The problem with EVERY megacorp being able to buy him for a few dollars, is that he does everything they ask. Which the sum total of that is this fucking chaos.

I really, really hope the term "Trumpcession" sticks. I would love those have this man's name forever associated with failure.

It would be great if the entire GOP would be forced to wear it as well, but this is honestly much better than nothing at all, which is what I would have predicted. It's a good start.

Wait, a proto-fashist sociopath notorious liar narcissist who tanked every business he was involved in doesn't improve the economy? How could this be?

The American Oligarchs were promised by the GOP the destruction of free or low cost government provided services forcing American consumers to pay private corporations for the same services. Except entirely on brand for trump, he is providing the destruction without an intact American consumer base able to purchase any services from private companies.

Who could have guessed? Oh wait, Trump told us this would tank the economy, that's right. He's doing what they all voted for.
